Perhaps it should be a double header with GB playing France as the Poms and the French lost men there as well. In the Poms case they lost nearly as many men as the rest of the allies put together.

I don't see the point.
It will just attract Australian backpackers and provide a boost for the Tourism industry in Turkey.
If the game was played there in even a small way I could see the point, but I don't think it is.
One positive is that Serbian fans and players say they could drive to see the game.

Firstly, for anybody who has been to Gallipoli for Anzac Day, & i have, you will realise that it is basically a crazy thing to try & do

The day starts at about 3, usually in Canakkale where most Aussies & Kiwis stay overnight & baord ferries to Anzac cove for the dawn service, & thats just the start of a very long day, thats over bright & early, then theres the choice of Turkish services, a British service & obviously the Aussies & kiwis dont want to miss the Australian service later in the day at lone Pine & the Kiwis dont want to miss the New Zealand service at Chunnuk bair, what i'm getting at is its a full day, these idiots think we're going to want to rush back to Istanbul for a 80 minute game of Footy??...muppets

Most backpackers who have come from London etc are making the most of the occasion & heading South to the beaches & Ephasus etc, not going back to Istanbul

The best time to have it would be a few days before Anzac day when everyone is pretty well assembled in Istanbul before making there way to Anzac Cove

Why have it at all, its just an oportunistic, jingoistic attempt at publicity, have a game in NZ or Australia by all means, but leave the sacred day at Gallipoli alone

Rugby league is the natural choice of sport for 1915 in both Australia and New Zealand.
