If prolific point scorers like Danny Brough 2,000 points, Kevin Sinfield 2,500 or Andy Farrell who scored 3,135 points in his career can't even get to the 50% mark is there any hope of anyone ever beating Fox's record?

Professional Rugby League players careers on the whole are getting shorter – probably due to the intensity of the game

Neil Fox played from 1956 to 1979, I doubt we will ever see that kind of longevity again

Add to that the prolific scoring record that Fox had and I doubt that anybody will get anywhere near his record

Probably not.

But then again Fox probably had more competitions to play in over his career such as other cups and trophies.

It seems very unlikely that anyone will even get close to it. The players now play fewer games in a season and Fox had a very long career. Players now tend on the main to break through into first teams at a later age and have to retire much earlier than Fox did. To threaten Fox's record a player would have to have a 20 year career and average over 300 points in every season of that career. That does not seem very likely in the now full time professional era. I would be very surprised if anyone beats Fox's record. The same applies to Brian Bevan's career tries record and Albert Rosenfield's 80 tries in a season.

Neil Fox was a prolific try scorer as well as a great goalkicker, even with the heavy leather ball.

I think his record will stand for a long time, and if it doesn't I would like to see who would break it.

Most un-subtle cast ever

One cracking player, however i do remember one incident involving Neil Fox.

Way back in the mists of time when Keighley usually got stuffed by 40 + ( 3 points for a try back then) they actually beat trinity at Lawkholme Lane 7 -2.

A certain Mr Fox tried to kick a penalty goal directly in front of the posts and actually knocked the corner flag down.

Talk about slice!!!!

Next game against trinity was service as normal, a 40 point thrashing.

To be fair I've never seen him live, so I can't comment.
