www.skysports.com/rugbyleague/ma ... 88,00.html
The headline "agar slams child after loss" put a twisted smile on quite a few faces.
Agar may well be right about Child's performance but he was less than forthcoming about the referee the previous week when his side were the beneficiary of forward passes in two of his sides tries in a 40-30 win in the capital.
Child not good enough for SL and Agar does not seem to have too many supporters either. Would Agar's words have been so vitriolic had his side been somewhere close to where a club with the history, fans, stadium and playing roster should be, I think not.

| Never thought I'd defend Agar, but tbf why should he be charged for these comments? They're honest, and IMO people should be free to criticise referees if they enter a bad performance. I'm sure they'll be on a decent wage so I reckon they can handle a bit of criticism.

| What do you expect as Cummins is a poor Refs boss and people are so frustrated with the standards. Yet Cummins gets upset when people blast how poor the standards are. Get a decent Refs boss and you would see a vast improvment in standards.

Good point.
I'm of the opinion only god can judge me.
Just because a referee says something has happened it doesnt mean it has. It's his OPINION.

| They had no option.
While i don't blame Agar, especially after seeing the match analysis on BnA, he clearly has a point, however he is not allowed to under the RFQA 'respect' rules.
I would assume if they had NOT charged him, other coaches would be asking for their fines to be repaid.

You're right and it's no surprise that he has been charged. Does anyone know if Brian Noble was charged after he remonstrated at the officials from the touchline last year at the KC Hull Crusaders game ? I only ask because that clearly showed a lack of respect with 11000+ watching and I would assume he would have been charged in a similar way ?

Shame the rules don't extend to respecting the fans wishes to see a game and not have it ruined by JC

Well said. I was at that game and it was totally ruined for everyone by the man himself.

| Once again Cummings is rewarding incompetence. Childs spoilt what could have been a cracking game between an inform Cas & a Hull team starting to gel & get on track. Maybe Agar didn't go about it in the right manner but to give Childs the Wigan game on friday is not giving the right signals from the RFL. Someone needs to guide them onto here each week to read the forums of the 2 clubs he's being in charge of as I don't think many have been complimentary even if their side won.

| I'm still of the opinion that the coaches MUST condone the players actions and the players were the ones being penalised for all the foul play or were they REALLY playing to the rules.
If the players were (highly improbable as most don't seem to have a clue ) then of course the situation re match officials may well be correct but until the coaches, clubs and players get their own houses in order then match officials will act the way they do.
And the queue for taking over as match officials boss or be a match official must be right through Leeds by now.
All the "experts" waiting to show that they could never do it wrong
Quite a few on this thread I see.

| I'm struggling to understand why so many don't seem to understand that there are ways to complain about the referee through proper channels, and that the more painful the decision/s, the more Agar needs to man up and take it on the chin. He could have made his point without doing a Violet Elizabeth Bott, and what he did is not in the interests of the game, or the hundreds of amateur officials who already have little enough respect as it is, without SL coaches leading the vanguard of the apoplectic.
