I'm surprised any player is signing a contract beyond 2012. With possibly two new teams and a hike in the salary cap I wouldn't be!

Great news for Souths, i think he's their best and probably most important player.
Chris Lawrence has also signed a 5 year deal at the Tigers.
Apparently Kearney wanted Isaac Luke to join the Eels, they've been after alot of the Kiwis team since he took over but they've all signed new deals with their clubs. Bronson Harrison was one of them but re-signed with the Raiders. SKD was another. He also wants Adam Blair from Melbourne according to reports.

Great to have him signed up for the long term. More good news today too, with Dylan Farrell re-signing for 2 more years.
There was a little rumour going around yesterday that Souths are looking to sign Joel Clinton from Rovers. Would have to take a rather large pay cut if he is to go back to the NRL me thinks. He was on a fortune at the Broncos. Can't see him demanding the big bucks he was on a few years ago, but if he want's to go home, maybe Souths are an option, especially with Geddes out for the season, and being one of Jonny Langs Penrith old boys...

I've heard the Clinton one myself, I'm not his biggest fan but I'd put him on par with Geddes.

Me neither. I think Souths have got enough cover to handle the loss of Geddes. Even with the loss of Crossman this year, Were still pretty well stocked in the front row department.

I would speculate it is weighted at the back end or subject to review at the midpoint. |
