| With at least one Championship club being awarded a Super League licence, just looking to see what the fans think about who is for the chop, I know it's been and being discussed out there, but polls show exactly what we think in cold hard graphic detail.
Haven't bothered including Wigan, Saints, Bradford, Warrington, Leeds and Hull FC as they achieved A or B licences last time around.

| I think we all know it's going to be us or Cas but then again I think we all know it should be Celtic-Wrexham-Crusaders or London- Broncos-Harlequins
Yet again this years top jokers are the RFL

| Me. One more speeding fine and I'm gone. I wonder if I promise not to do it again the magistrate might let me carry on driving for three more years? I'll submit some rehabilitation plans - see if that'll win them over.

You missed out the ' nobody ' option , when they increase SL to 16

True the RFL could opt to go up to 16, but I hardly think that it would help the national team unless they were going to play home and away games in alternate seasons and have our players having 16 SL games inc MM, alongside the CC, play-offs, GF, potentially a Roses series. The option of another two teams wouldn't go down too well with some and four more games would have some outspoken pundits pulling their hair out.
Nobody is an option, but only if all appicants fail to beat the criteria www.superleague.co.uk/page.php?id=375

Not really , the club Chairmen would welcome more fixtures , the Roses thing wont happen again , and as far as International ' burn out ' , well you just set a limit on the number of games any one particular player can play , which would be another way of encouraging clubs to ' blood ' juniors
Widnes pass the criteria [ it was set with them in mind ] so they will go up , but I think the RFL will do anything in their power to avert dropping [ and potentially killing ] a current SL club

Good point on the player burn out issue; I've never understood how players are stood down the week before SOO matches, yet we can't manage to rest our top players properly and having them physically drained by playing too many games. I'm not sure SL needs more teams, it does need better teams, and of the endangered 8 teams, bar one or two they are not expected to reach the play-offs, so there does need to be a change. If there is someone out there with millions of pounds to pump into a club, pre-existing or otherwise and I change my tune, otherwise I go with the one-in, one-out policy.

It didn't stop the RFL 'potentially' killing clubs last time. Those who were wanted got in, those who weren't were left out. The only difference this time is that the clubs who got in have had three years to attend to those areas where their bid was weak and those who didn't get in have had three years to strengthen their bids in areas which kept them out. Halifax and Widnes appear to have made solid attempts to do their bit - what of Wakefield, Castleford, Salford and Harlequins?
And how was the criteria set with Widnes in mind?

Going bust and having no ground (of worth) just before the decision is made wont help Wakey sadly-having a nice RU stadium to use and a wealthy backer as per Quins does help. Goodnight Wakey

It is a very different scenario from not letting a club in , and kicking a club out , from a legal point of view it is highly unlikely any club not in SL could win a case for admission , but much more likely an existing SL club clould win a case if removed

Why would a club being 'kicked out' take legal action? Don't laugh, but the RFL insist that the criteria on which the licences applications will be judged is transparent and will be applied to all clubs fairly. Remember, the clubs themselves were consulted on the criteria and agreed the system. If the same sytem when applied last time was okay because it kept certain clubs in, why would it be so wrong as to need those same clubs to resort to legal action when the same system now kicks one of them out? If it was fair and just when it kept Halifax, Leigh and Widnes out, it will surely be just as fair when it lets one of them in (not Leigh) and removes at least one existing club.
