| The squad isrl
Definitely some surprises for me, more in the case of who was omitted rather than included. But I am pretty happy with that squad.
Presently, the team i'd go with is...
1. Billy Slater
2. Jarryd Hayne
3. Brent Tate
4. Willie Tonga
5. Darius Boyd
6. Darren Lockyer
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Petero Civoniceva
9. Cameron Smith
10. David Shillington
11. Paul Gallen
12. Luke Lewis
13. Greg Bird
14. Kurt Gidley
15. Sam Thaiday
16. Nate Myles
17. Tom Learoyd-Lahrs
I think that would be pretty close to who's picked, though i'm almost sure Thaiday would start ahead of Lewis. Matt Scott could pinch a bench spot ahead of Myles or TLL too.
Would be very happy to see the back three as i've named them, it features the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Dally M Fullback of the Year.
I'm also glad of the confirmation of Cronk. He, along with Smith will bring their Storm connection with Slater. Lockyer has a wealth of experience with Smith and Slater already, so we're still fielding a top of the line spine.
I've got complete confidence in this team.

| Hayne is not and never will be a winger. What is it with Int squads and ignoring the value of a real winger?
At least NSWRL got their man!

| Over the moon selectors didn't select Matt Cooper, Mark Gasnier or Mitch Pearce. We have a strong squad with the majority picked on form and all deserve their place. Matt Scott I am particulary happy for, caps a great season.

| 5 players only from the grand final is a surprise but as a saints fan id rather our players had a rest in the off season
very weak australian side and very beatable
is locky really over the rib injury?
nz will have a good chance and if the poms grow some B88ls them too
burgess and ellis have shown they can hack it with the best in the nrl

| The Poms winning would be good for the game. PNG winning would almost mean it's death-bed.
All I want to see is another dominant Australian performance. I hope we (Australia, not me and you) crush the other 3 countries.

Quite right too CGD
The poms havent exactly got off to a flying start against 'Cumbria' ... although a lot of the players they normally select didnt play.Even so you would still have expected them to win by a country mile.

I can still see Australia winning it... if not.. it will be NZ
PNG and England you would have to say are both major outsiders.
