| I am new to this board so I apologise if this has already been discussed.
How are Burgess, Flanagan & Ellis getting on down under.
What prospects for Lima, Hoffman, and Finch?

| Burgess has been rated as the best since Mal Reillly.
Ellis has also been getting rave reviews.
Flanagan is currently plying his trade in NSW Cup

Burgess was signed by Russell Crowe and billed to be a god like being who would ensure Souths would storm into the finals... and probably go on to win the premiership. According to press releases the only thing that could stop this bloke was Kryptonite ... or soap. This was to increase the amount of memberships South sold for the new season.
Sadly he didnt live up to the hype and although it was not all his fault, Souths failed to make the 8.
Eliss (and his big chin) have been a little better than last year but Wests success hasn't been down to him. He has bombed quite a few chances to score... chances that when re created under laboratory conditions have proven that it would have been easier to score than not to. If it wasn't for Benji Marshall, Wests would have been lucky to make the 8.
Flanagan is playing NSW cup where he is a little out of his depth.
Lima, Hoffman and Finch will be great signings for Wigan.
I think Brett Finch will be the best signing out of the 3.

| Burgess was superb for Souths.
One of the best players this year.
I have no Souths affiliation.
Proof positive re- Mackenzie's cluelessness.

Amazing, one of the most under rated forwards in the game rates Ellis as the 'Best player I have ever played with'
But our resident keyboard warrior obviously knows far more about him than one of his team mates.
It must tear you appart inside to see how much positive media coverage these two superstar English forwards get!
Even Joey Johns said this morning on the Sunday footy show that Ellis is the best forward in the world.

| When asked what he thought of Gareth Ellis, Tim Sheens said he was good enough for a Australian test jersey.
Although used very poorly by Lang, Burgess was one of Souths beteer player this season imo.

Maybe we should rename your link as 'Wests player gives a big rap to...ummm fellow Wests player'
And Joey is that desperate for people to like him again he would say Ivan Milat was good for the Australian tourist board if he thought people would agree with him

*Sigh*
The cold hard facts are these.
Neither Eliss nor Burgess are particularly good.
Eliss plays for a side that have gone well in 2010 not because of his individual skill or his big chin but because of the players around him... in particular Benji Marshall.
When the hype Russell Crowe built up over Burgess died down (in order for Souths to sell more memberships) it became obvious that despite being built up as a new unstoppable god of world rugby league, all conquering Rugby league gladiator and British warrior Sam Burgess was in fact just plain old little pommie Sam... a very average player from Bradford.
Those are the facts.
Like them or not.

| Two of the best forwards in the NRL at this point in time, both would be playing SOO and prob Test RL if they were born anywhere in teh Southern hemoisphere!
Even Flannigan has played plenty of 1st grade and not looked too bad.

That same article appeared in the Gold Coast Bulletin today, but was attributed to Bryce Gibbs?? I agree with everything he said,Ellis has been superb again this season, and Burgess very good in his first season in an ordinary side.
