| Probably a bad idea to bring this game back. A shame it can't be used as like an international warm up game. Just never had the intensity.
Anyway.. what team would you pick. I think it would be a good contest on paper ( though i doubt you'd get the Aussie based players over ).
My effort was:
Yorkshire
1. Widdop
2. Briscoe
3. Atkins
4. Shenton
5. Hall
6. Pryce
7. Mcguire
8. Burgess
9. Robinson
10. peacock
11. Westwood
12. Ellis
13. Westerman
Bench
14. Carvell
15. Scruton
16. Crabtree
17. Wilkin/Westwood
Lancashire
1. Wellens
2. Riley
3. Bridge
4. Gleeson
5. Goulding
6. S.Tomkins
7. Eastmond
8. Morley
9. sinfield
10. Graham
11. J.Tomkins
12. Harrison
13. O'loughlin
Bench
14. Roby
15. Wood
16. Coley
17. McCarthy-Scarsbrook ( he's at saints!)
Probably made some obvious omissions and i know Harrison is Cumbria. Some other players probably outside these counties too.

| I've said before, trying to create a SOO comp is falling on deaf ears.
However, the French (and Welsh) would benifit from fixtures against counties rather than playing England every time, and it would give the English selector chance to try new talent alongside established.

London is traditionally aligned to Lancashire RL anyway so London produced players (should) technically qualify for Lancashire, Dominic Peters was last London born player to play for Lancashire.

| Surely it would have to be a Yorkshire Vs the rest of the UK (West of Pennines, Cumbria, North Wales, South England etc.) to make it competitive!

| Yorkshire would smash it,
wouldnt see a problem seeing a 6 team tournament throughout the season, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Yorkshire and Lancashire(rest of England), France Give a decent test for player selection, would give more games for a player like Brough to represent a team like Scotland hopefully building a bit more loyalty, would give those teams more games.
sort out 6 weekends for the season, play it as a triple header, one in each home ground.
Only issue is finding 6 weekends

Sinfield played hooker for England and looked comfortable.

Yet the southern parts of Warrington such as Latchford was [ihistorically[/i in Cheshire up and till 1894, which I think the poster above you, was alluding to.
