When he first burst onto the scene I thought he was destined to be a great. Sadly, he's just not progressed. As Davies said if he concentrated on making some yards rather than niggling he might be a better player. If Leeds aren't to go backwards I think they'll need to get at lleast one proper prop and two half-backs.

Surprises me how he manages to stay on the field. He can't play, he is just a 'wind up merchant'.

Reminds me of a bully at school good at picking on the little people but when someone bigger or the same size as him squares off to him he don't want to know he's a wind bag he did it when kr beat Leeds few weeks ago with our make shift winger youngster latus knocked him around then Joel Clinton stepped in and he didn't want to know I bet he's proud of it as well

I don't get what he does other than give penalties away. I'm sure when he was young I remember thinking he looked quite good and had a yard of pace for a big lad.

Less carries per game and metres per carry than the legend that is Bryn Hargreaves. Misses a greater proportion of his tackles too. That's about his level.

For all the Leeds' fans extollong of his virtues as a niggler, his actions are pretty cringeworthy at times.

Takes all sorts though and the game is better with its pantomime villains like Bailey/Long/Pryce etc

He can show, on occasion, that he can be a very useful prop. He had an excellent game in the semi final for instance.

Then again, for somebody who is supposedly a "waste of space", he gets a disproportionate amount of attention from both opposition players and fans.

If he ever followed through with his hard man routine rather than looking terrified (Carvell, Blair, Sculthorpe, Lauaki from memory) people would soon shut up. He's like the playground bully, cheap shots on wingers but nowhere to be seen when the big boys stand up to him. Nobody likes the playground bully except his mates, and nobody likes Bailey except Leeds fans.

I find it all quite entertaining.

Bailey had potential but has never reached it. For years he's been no 3 or 4 in the pecking order of Leeds props and the disappointing thing about that is that he keeps getting overtaken. Burgess, for example, has surpassed him over the last couple of years. With Peacock and Burgess out in the cup final, Leeds really needed him to stand up and say "I can be the top guy" and take the game to Morley and Carvell but he didn't. At this stage of his career, I don't think he ever will. All of which isn't to say that he's a bad player - he's just never made the step up to top player.
