| Cant help thinking MSK or Premier sports or whatever they are calling themselves nowadays have shot themselves in the foot by making their channel a subscription only one from today.
Most of us on here I would imagine have little or no interest in the Gaelic football and if we were going to pay £7 a month it would be purely to watch the NRL. Barry McKenzie is a lucky boy... I live in a flat provided by my employer and we have Sky already installed... I did ask whether they would fork out an extra £7 a month so I could watch the remainder of the games live... not surprisingly they told me to fork off.
Seems a strange time to swap over to a subscription service especially as there are not many rounds left anyway.
As we all know live NRL can be viewed on a variety of different sites live online anyway and Sky do a pretty good midweek round up of all the NRL games.
So just WHY have this Irish channel gone subscription this late in the season?
I think I would have brought it in at the start of the 2011 NRL season if it had been me. Surely more people would subscribe if they had a full seasons footy ahead of them?
Barry McKenzie suspects MSK/Premier sports are destined to go the same way as Setanta did now.
Bad move in my opinion.

| No, the quality of the picture whenever I've watched it has been akin to that of a dodgy online feed. I'll watch that for free thanks.

Its far better quality now than it was at first.
I still wouldnt pay £7 a month to watch it though... not this late in the season.

| It's not for the NRL, it's been made subscription because of the GAA All-Ireland Semi this week, that's why they've put it to subscription

I've watched a couple of games of GAA footy... seems quite good actually. I could probably get into it if I watched it more.
Wouldnt be my first choice of sport though.

| Ive signed up. Its another £7 on top of all the other subsciption fees but watching the NRL is my fav sport to watch alongside ashes cricket.
I agree though Baz, cant see them making much money out of UK based NRL viewers.
Positive is weve got 4/5 live games for the NRL fans like myself.
Negative is the best rugby league is not accessible to the general sports fan. If the games were on itv4 or sky with millions of potential viewers you may get a few more people interested in the sport.

| How much does it cost to watch Super League on Sky, especially if you have very little interest in Football ?
Bear in mind you are tied into an initial annual subscription to Sky, Premier Sports is a two month minimum contract.
How much money do you think Premier Sports have made in the last few months from the 'adverts' ?

I bet sales of Gaymers Cider have rocketed.
Thats all I have seen them advertise.
That advert really gets up my goat actually and I wouldnt buy their cider out of principle

| I couldn’t find the will to get up in the morning for the 2nd and 3rd state of origin games so no I won’t be paying extra board to watch something that I get as good on sky sports in super league at a more convenient time.
Me and mornings just don’t agree at the moment.
