| Thats a rubbish team. Most of those are good players but some of the positional selections are shocking.
At this point I'd go with:
Widdop
Leon Pryce
Shenton
Atkins
Hall
Tomkins
McGuire
Graham
Sinfield
Peacock
Ellis
Burgess
Todd Flanders
Subs:
Roby
J Tomkins
Crabtree
Morley

and you said my positioning was bad! also widdop can play centre and tomkins is playing very well at fullback at the moment.

| Pretty much all of Pryce's good performances at test level have been while playing on the wing. I've picked McGuire over Eastmond becuase Eastmond has been injured a lot of the season, and McGuire has been in very good form this seasson. Has Widdop played centre at senior level? Is there any evidence to suggest he could play there? Plus we have more options at centre than at FB.

| I think Eastmond being injured will be an advantage if he can get back to match fitness by the end of the season, rumours are he'll be back for the playoffs. At least he won't be knackered.

| Gareth Widdop
Peter Fox
Leon Pryce
Chris Bridge
Ryan Hall
Sam Tomkins
Kyle Eastmond
James Graham
Kevin Sinfield
Jamie Peacock
Gareth Ellis
Sam Burgess
Sean O'loughlin
-----------------------------------
James Roby
Adrian Morley
Joel Tomkins
Eorl Crabtree
That would be my first choice 17. Gareth Widdop is the best option we have at fullback. He at least has some pace, excellent footwork and is a good support player. Peter Fox and Ryan Hall played very well in the Four Nations and deserve to be included. Chris Bridge and Leon Pryce could hopefully offer us some threat out wide. There's no point just going for a defensive option, we have to play some good Rugby League. Chris Bridge can come back in field from time to time and Pryce can at least cause some problems with his footwork and ability to drift in between defenders. Tomkins and Eastmond worked last time - they stay. McGuire is a poor defender at club level and was ripped to shreds at the DW stadium last year. The forwards pick themselves. Lockers is the best 13 in the country. And finally I think the bench is the best we've got. Eorl Crabtree had a fanastic tournament whenever called upon and he for some reason puts a of doubt in the Aussie forwards. Morley is an automatic pick and Roby is a better player than Lunt. Joel Tomkins has been the best back row forward in the league IMO and deserves a spot above Westwood and Harrison.

McGuire should never play for England again, how many times do some people want this guy to try and fail at international level. Time to move on to the the younger more enthusiastic halves who dont fear the Aussies.

Made his NRL debut there

Couldnt agree more, its the younger more exciting players that make you want to watch not some of the older tried and failed ones.

im excited about widdop if he gains more experience over the next few years in the storms 1st team he'll be a great asset to England in the world cup as for the 4 nations it will be a good learning curve for him being included in the squad.
