Hmmm
The whole story is interesting on so many levels and could be spun in so many ways.
The last part made me laugh after reading the article.
Perhaps the reason for the lad changing is a bit obvious but then again.

Although it doesn't include you do actually have one space to get a fourth, no? Also, it doesn't mention the fact that Carmont has come off quota and that you have several overseas players that don't count on the quota, no?

| Thornley was offered a contract by Wigan months ago, having delayed going full time so that he could do his A-Levels, Sale have been after him for years, and offered him quite a lot of money for someone who's never played first team.
Next year our overseas players will be:
Roberts (Until his injury, he was an MOS candidate)
Richards (Top points scorer in the league)
Carmont (Still a quality centre, contract will probably be renewed)
Finch (SOO player)
Leuluai (World cup winner playing in the position he won the WC)
Lima (Kiwi International in his prime)
Hoffman (SOO and Australia player)
And before anyone starts moaning, Hansen doesn't count as he came through our academy, a bit like Savelio won't count for Saints once he breaks through.

But let's not worry about the fact that Wigan bring in an Australian Stand Off and relocate an english one to full back so he doesnt play in the position he is selected for at International level.
Wigan DID NOT NEED Finch - they took him to stop HKR or whoever signing him...

| Back on the original topic...
I can see where Lenegan is coming from, had another league club picked up the player then Wigan would have been entitled to some compo for the time and effort they put into his development as opposed to seeing him just walk away. Still, it's a free gangway between the codes and operates in both directions so I'm sure he'd be only too happy to pick up some young player from Sale or Orrell fo free.

You'll find Leuluai is expected to play hooker interchanging with McIlorum.
Tomkins and Finch will be our halves and Roberts/Richards will be our full back with Roberts/Richards and Goulding/Pryce/Charnley on the wing.

If you keep Pryce. Isn't he out of contract?

Yeah, it's pretty much up in the air whether we'll keep him or not though.

| The BBC article was obviously written by a yawnion apologist more than anything else. What the article didn't want to say is Sale have signed an unproven player who is battling with several English players at Wigan for a first team future and has decided to take the easy option.

| The info for the article will have come from Dave Swanton, ex Wire and Wigan media manager. Sale's signings so far seem to suggest that there isn't a lot of money in the Club at the moment.
