Gary Purdham wasn't just Rob's brother, he was an accomplished RL player himself having represented BARLA and also played professionally for both Whitehaven and Workington Town.

i had a really bad feeling it might be a rugby league personality when the doctor from seascale mentioned one of those killed was very well known, especially in west cumbria.
my thoughts are with all the people there at this very traumatic time.
