Heared for a while that Thurston wanted away from the NRL didn't think it would be to the dark side.

I dont see why he'd want to go. It's not as though he's getting peanuts from the Cowboys is it, they've offered him something like $2m over 3 years with a lucrative 3rd party sponsership, a job at the club when his carrer is over and his bird also works for the Cowboys so he's never gonna be skint is he.
kHunt is not even staying with Biarritz in Union, he's only on a short term deal before he naffs off to AFL. Wonder if he's been trying to get Folau to join the Melbourne Rebels as there's been interest from them and he's got a clause in his contract so he can leave at the end of this season, the report also said he was at the GF afterparty with the Storm last year and he asked about going back with them but they didn't have the money, apparently not too happy at the Broncos and misses the tight knit culture at the Storm and Bellamy's coaching.

TBH...I don't know. The wendyballers are averaging as much as the traditional wellington union lot already and the market would be ripe for an NRL team based wellington/christchurch...alternating games. Twice the audience with half the opportunity to see the team? Good chance they would average 20k each "home" game pretty quickly.

Look. Thurston is a great player. The problem is, no one outside of the east coast of aus, or the m62 corridor in the uk know who he is. The minute he signs for a rugby team, he will be recognised the world over. You cant blame great players for wanting a bit of spotlight.

so would 2 more queensland clubs, png and a 2nd nz side

so many places, we cant go to all of them at once
