See link.
I have given my two penneth on our site and basically said it won't happen for at least five years if ever.
I cannot see the Crusaders making a profit any time soon never mind enough of a profit to fund a Wrexham FC push to get back in the league or to build a new stand which is what I've also heard elsewhere.
What do others think? I don't think they've actually thought the takeover through as you need to spend a lot to get the squad to compete and get people through the gate. We have not so can't see us doing anything other than losing money for quite a few years yet if I'm being honest.

| That article is a month old, and was discussed to death at the time. It's just propaganda from a football club director who probably won't be involved, so there's no point even paying any attention to it.

| I hope you're right as if this is part of their plan for the club then they will either have a huge shock or run out of money which will mean bad news for the club again.

| I just hope the RFL has thoroughly checked the intentions and security of the new setup. From the words coming out of Wrexham it seems the intention is to create a new company and for FC to charge them a huge stadium rental fee/management charge and make them pay it, then wind them up when it runs out of money. I cannot see anything other than Wrexham FC being fully protected, the directors likewise, and the RL club just being used as a vehicle.

| If anything I think rugby league could affect football. The football fans will see how entertaining RL is and how cheap in comparison to football it is and this could lead to them ditching it and buying STs for Crusaders. Or is that me being too optimistic?

| what better reason to have a SL club than to help out an ailing soccer side? whole thing is a joke.
I am guessing he hasn;t seen the operating losses of 99% of Sl clubs? If soccer is only getting 1800 I wonder how many RL is going to get.
Oh well at least it looks a nicer stadium which as we all know is THE most important thing in RL these days.

| If they're relying on Leeds taking 4,000 then I think they're going to be sadly mistaken. Outside of local derbies, away support in RL is on the whole pretty abysmal as percentages of home crowds, bar a couple of exceptions.

| Why not? At the end of the day if they support them, they can only get stronger.

| I hope so for the sake of the sport's credibility and the good of the game in Wales! Only time will tell but I don't think it'll work out brilliantly just yet...

got to agree, nobody apart from HullKR has ever taken over 4,000 to the KC, and Hull is just about as far away from most SL clubs as Wrexham is.
the only teams who have ever brought 3,000 to Hull are Wigan a few times, and Bradford, Wakefield and Warrington did on 1 occasion each.
