| Talk about complicated! They have 3 boards running the one club! one for Jnr's, one for Leagues club and one for the NRL franchise. No wonder it costs so much to run an NRL club, it's all the board meetings sandwiches!

Aren't or haven't many other clubs been like that? ie. Souths. Souths Juniors. Souths Juniors Leagues etc. etc.
Different boards. Different costs. Not all out of the same pocket.

Well, he's not gone - yet:
1) He has a vote on the Football Club board (he must be the only CEO in any organisation in the world to also have a vote on the board that they are directed by) which, in some circumstances, will mean the PDRLFC could be tied 4-all in a direct faction clash; and
2) The 3Ps need to win control of the Leagues Club board in April which shouldn't be too hard as they will need to only win one or, at the most, two positions (3 of the LC board coming from the PDRLFC Board - assuming they are all from the 3P faction) to take control.
Hopefully, what is happening at my club will mean more committment to the football operations, more investment in fan culture from the Leagues Club - and less interest in investing in rival sports and more concentration from the next CEO on running a football club and less on running a gaming-centric organisation...

Plenty of CEO's have a board voting right. It is not unusual in business.

Well, only if they're also a board member.
Denis Fitzgerald is an employee of the company. He is not a board member. Having a vote alongside elected board members is an outrage.
If he is going to sit on the board it should be in an "ex-officio" capacity only.

Good for him.
But it should be avoided, however (and generally is) -- after all, the Board is the CEO's boss, the CEO reports to the board, the board carries out his performance review and determines his actions. Mixing up the duties of a board member and a CEO reduces the accountability of the CEO and has been shown to reduce the effectiveness of individual board members...
I mean, the bloke ends up reporting to himself and being his own boss -- and, as experience shows, ends up becoming the board's biggest mouth. Which is the problem at Parramatta -- No accountability at all with slavish board members deferring everything to him -- as Denis is essentially reporting to himself.

| He should go for the good of the club. When he first took over the club was winning GFs etc. Thereafter nothing.

| Agreed Parra are the underachievers of the NRL both on and off the field. They have a strong catchment area, decent funding from Leagues clubs, a good stadium and yet still haven't been a powerhouse of the game for 20+ years.
