the thread wasnt about how supporters discuss their own team in a club forum. the thread was an honest opinion of where i believe the welsh experiment is heading and where it will end up. at no point did i say i wanted them to fail because i dont, and at no point did i say widnes should take their place. my point was that the holy grail of expansion isnt the be all and end all, especially when the locals cant be bothered backing it. it is not a crusade against the crusaders, far from it.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

That Crusaders have a higher percentage of the town's population watching them than all but four of the Super League clubs maybe?

| This town/city population thing really is a load of round things though isn't it. It gets trotted out time and again in the belief that it somehow proves something. Are you trying to tell me that only people who live in Wigan can support Wigan? What about me - I live in Manchester and travel to pretty much all Wigan games, home and away. Maybe I should start following wendyball instead?
It also fails to take into account other conflicts of attention. In Wigan, we have a premiership football team in the same town, plus many others within a few miles (2 in Manchester, 2 in Liverpool, plus a handful of others within 20 miles or so). To say nothing of other RL teams like Leigh, Saints, Warrington etc on the doorstep.
When you look at fanbase, you look at catchment area, not town. You look at population density within a certain radius from the club, say 20 miles, as your target audience. How about you post those figures instead? What, too hard to do? Thought so.
Not done exact measurements, but after a quick look on google maps, within "about" 20 miles of Wrexham you have Chester, Mold, Ellesmere Port, Nantwich, Crewe, Shrewsbury. Quite a decent catchment area. That's to say nothing of the whole of Wirral and Merseyside and the Potteries not too far off as well.

am i real. check. have i posted trust in widnes. check have i checked im not barred from any boards- check
have i checked if i am an alias-check. the simple reason i have no access to the widnes messageboard is that i committed the heinous crime of changing my email to a web mail address which is not accepted so if that make me an alias then so be it.
my opinion, yes thats all it was, check, that the welsh franchise is failing has naff all to do with who i support.
i support widnes but also rugby-check-and being told i am an alias and sad for voicing that isnt great on your part.
try the username brossie thread entitled most at threat posted on 24 july at 21:25, page 6 on the messageboard. then try thread entitled dream posted on 21 july at 21:07 on page 7
Have i posted before- CHECK

Fascinating
We still have no record of ever having a member with the username brossie. What messageboard did you say these threads are posted on? this intrigues me now.
edit oh right: some entirely different third party site that has no connection to RLFans.
