| Quote: pyeman "If you didnt pay much attention to him fair enough, but as someone who did i can tell you his defence was excellent at the end of last season (though its true he offers virtually no go forward.'"
He's a player that could go well for Celtic but that's it. He doesn't have enough class to be in SL..National League is more his level, he is just a shocking player.
Edit: As for our starting line up it looks strong enough to make 8th. Strength in depth is very poor though in some positions and if we get key injuries 8th could turn into tenth.
1. McGoldrick - Worked on the high ball a lot last year and seems to be doing ok at FB
2. Dixon - Very underated one of our better players
3. Shenton - Need i say anything ?
4. Evans - Too old.
5. Owen - Could turn into a player as good as Shenton this year
6. Chase - Awsome, awsome player.
7. Sherwin - Too old...expect him to play no more than 10 games.
8. Sargent - Good prop.
9. Hudson - Hope his injury doesn't hamper him. Should do well
10. Jackson - Hope he does well.
11. Ferres - Did really well for us last year
12. Snitch - Hopefully can do well
13. Westerman - Needs to improve to prove all the doubters wrong.

Edit
Whilst i agree with you that he isnt a player i would have wanted to retain, i will give credit where credits due, his defence was excellent at the end of last season, though as i have already said he offers nothing going forward. clayton competing as he is for the 5th choice second rower position with john davies is the least of our worries.
I think you do evans and sherwin a disservice too, evans played well for us last year was solid in defence but lacked pace. As for sherwin do you have any reasoning for saying he will play the least games a season he has ever played for us|?
I'll tell you what lewis, would you like a wager on whether sherwin plays more than 10 games this coming season? say 20 quid bet, split between the winner and an rl connected charity of your choice (brenan rooney, rfl benevolant, adam watene)?

Don't get me wrong i'm not one of those guys who's negative infact i'm one of the most positive guys that you could find however us retaining Clayton is a very poor piece of business. Evans was one of those players that for me just wasn't good enough and when we came up against half decent teams he went missing.
Sherwin is now what 31 (32 after a month of the season) and has shown that he is really struggling with injury in the latter part of his career. Don't get me wrong (again) when he's fit he makes things happen for us but he's never going to be 100% fit again which makes me think he won't play more than 15 games for us this season.
As for the wager....i was exaggerating a little bit with 10 but i'll take that bet with 15 instead ?

i think your harsh saying he's never going to be fit again (sherwin) he's had some bad luck but theres no reason to believe that he wont be fit next season.
I will take your bet lewis (as long as half of the money goes to charity), i like a man who backs his words.
Even if he has to shift the goal posts a bit

| Interesting to see that Hull have been placed anything from 3rd to 12th.
I appreciate that we have done very poorly the last two years but I think we have a very exciting squad next year and our first choice 17 will be a match for anyone. Hopefully we will shock a few people this season.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no...why play the below average drunk at full back when there's next years England #1 stuck on the wing? McGoldrick shouldn't even get a place in the starting 13.

Think next season they could be alot of full backs in contention for England.
Briscoe, Tansey, Owen, Halley, Mathers, Wellens, Blaymire and Melling, 8 there and there isnt alot between them really.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |
