However, if it did happen [size=80(did I mention I don't hope it will?)[/size, I would find it funny that we've had to listen to and read over 6 months of hype, speculation, big talk and rumour over Willie's arrival and what he's gonna do to who, and that would all be wasted effort.

Personally, I'm looking forward to him coming up against Huddersfield (and Warrington's) big men, though if he's not passed a ball in a few months as he said I wonder how his fitness is?

He certainly looks in good shape. He claims to have been training more as an athlete than a player and doesn't think the long lay off will be much of an issue once he regains match fitness. I think any genuine rugby league fan will be looking forward to seeing the likes of Crabtree and Morley go up against Mason.

You can train as long and hard as you like but it's very difficult to replicate match fitness, it'll take him a few games to get upto speed.

If he has come for the right reasons, knuckles down and concentrates on rugby, he will be as good a forward as there is in SL. If, on the other hand he decides to go looking for confrontations (which isn't out of the question judging by his comment so far), he will be more trouble then he's worth. IMO there are plenty of players willing and capable of giving him a fight, but few can match his attributes as a RL forward - depends on which he decides is most important to him.

I don't see him going looking for confrontation, what was his disciplinary record like in oz? He will no doubt attract a lot of attention from the oppo players and this should create a lot pens and a lot of space for the rest of the team.

I agree tho' we wont see the best of him for a couple of weeks yet.

Think it will take 5/6/7 games before we see him at his best.

so up to 11 games into a 27 game regular season.....money well spent
