Hodgson is *not* a bad player.He is a very good one for his club. So unless all the Aussie players, ex-players, Dally M guys etc don't know what they are talking about...And actually, I thought Hodgson had a better game than in the last match FWIW.
But as I've said before, if he and Bennett between them can't make it work at international level, then it's up to the coach to pick someone else more suited to his tactics. Whatever his tactics are, cos I saw no sign of any kind of a plan. As other posters have noted, no sign of any set plays when we got into the strike zone.

Widdop for me is another one who seldom offers much in an England/GB shirt. Kicking game poor, and never imposed himself. It comes to something when Austin, despite playing out of position, dropping a high ball, and butchering a score, was still one of our more effective players.

Well, we had 3 halves in the starting line up that were produced outside this country, but they look as bad as the much maligned Sean Long, Danny McGuire or Kevin Sinfield ever did, so I'm sure the problem is necessarily the halves.

I honestly think Bennett has given up the ghost with this tour and for the team to play like they have, it’s a disgrace to the shirt and if he had anything about him he’d resign on the spot.

I blame the coach more than the players. I felt a bit sorry for Hastings, who tried hard, and did after all create our only decent scoring chance; Hodgson's try was a fluke.

I wonder if Williams, or even Trueman, will get a game against the Kumuls.

There is literally no reason to play centres in this side. As soon as the ball gets wide, it stops with Bateman and Whitehead. Now, I know they have had great season's but there is such a bias in the way we play in giving the ball to the NRL players. Graham just gets in the way and restricts space for Lomax and Hastings who at least inject some pace into the attack.

I want an English coach to get the Englang/GB job and who will play to our strengths rather than the oppositions strengths whereby we come off 2nd best the majority of games

I was there in march for the manly v warriors game.... About 12k that day.... Felt like less yesterday. There is the england cricket tour on here at the moment and U2 were in auckland this weekend as well, so the game was a tough sell and there's been little if any hype other than on NZ Sky.
Even the tongan game in hamilton, an hours drive from south auckland was badly attended..... It has been an awful tour in most respects with a handful of touring fans
