And there you have the biggest problem on this site.
I wish I had a pound for every post I've read written by people who claim to have 'insider information' or 'work in the game' or 'know someone who knows someone who works in the game' or 'lives in Australia'
Its quite sad really. I really should ignore a lot of people on here. But it's hilarious reading some of the incredible waffle that gets posted by certain people who I won't bother naming. You know who you are!
Long may you continue. RLFans would be boring without you!

You don't congratulate anyone. You post on an internet forum. No one you are "congratulating" reads what you write so what's the point? Why do people on here feel the need to post as if they're talking to the actual people involved and not a bunch of other nuffies on an internet forum?

| You can hardly blame the GB students because of a shortage of "university students" in oz. You can only play who and what is in front of you. To coin a phrase, a wins a win. Well done GB.

Thats because it's in Wales and as we all know, RL in Wales is about as popular as it is in London. Union is the ONLY game of Rugby that counts in Wales.
Yet despite all the evidence pointing out this fact (the failure of Celtic Crusaders in Bridgend, the poor crowds at Wrexham etc etc) people don't seem to understand.

Cardiff University (known as University of Wales, College of Cardiff back then), also spat in rugby league when I went there. From what I can see they still don't have a team. That's a huge university (10th biggest in the UK out of 165) that doesn't seem to bother with RL.
I think Cardiff Institute had a fairly decent RL team at the time, they look to still be in the Wales & West league these days.

| Quote ="Thoth"Watch any SL game you will see countless instances of players lack of confidence in their own ability

I've just watched the NRL highlights show on Sky that I recorded last week
The Souths vs. Cronulla game started with the Souths player catching the ball and being knocked over the sideline by his own player (which was a good thing because he tried to throw it back inside only for a Cronulla player to touch down after 6 seconds of the game)
The Newcastle vs. St George game started with St George dropping the ball from the kick off
And the Sydney vs. Canberra game started with Sydney kicking the ball out on the full from the kick-off
I nearly fell off the sofa I was laughing that much... If I were you I would look at the comedy sketch show called the NRL before criticising the basic skills in the Super League

Seconded. The NRL isn't as far ahead as some on here would like to try and make you believe.
Also, when it comes to attendances the NRL fans have no right to get on their high horses (Sydneysiders especially)
5,703 Penrith v Souths is one gate that springs to mind ...they'll tell you it was raining probably That's a Sydney/derby game, between 2 teams less than 50 minutes apart by rail or road.
As for PHIPPS's team...the Cronulla Sharks......they are the worst draw in the NRL with souths, penrith and melbourne posting terrible gates for their visit and only 7,000 and change rolling up for their home game against NQlnd. They even have to take their "home" game v the Warriors to New Zealand to get a crowd
But I digress......a GB win is a GB win...regardless of what excuseds the Australians want to try and roll out.

What is it with you and crowds?
Do you get a woody each time a game isn't sold out or something?

Stick to watching your fav sport and leave RL alone.

| There are TAFE teams. I play in the NSWTRL and there are TAFE, unis and colleges. You can also play City Country and State of Origin.
There is a guy in Brisbane who occasionally plays first grade who came through QLD and is also a physiotherapist. However Union rules especially in the universities.

Never heard that before, matter of fact, all the Tafe's I've seen, not one has a sporting ground
Not disagreeing with you, but the closest I've seen any TAFE come within a set up for sport is usually the swimming pool they each have, and they are usually used for relaxation.
