| God my head hurts this morning but Christ is it worth it!!!
Thanks to all those well-wishers on here, us "irrelevant" Salford fans are well and truly living the dream. Never seen so many middle aged men in tears last night (yup including me!  ) which kind of sums up the magnitude of what Watto has achieved with this bunch of championship plodders. 
I finally have another memory to put in the bank along with the 96 CC win over Wigan. 
I love this team and it's heartbreaking to think next week will be the last time us fans see half of them in a Salford shirt. Every one of them is a true legend of the club tho and they'll get one hell of a reception every time they return to the AJ Bell.  |

I started watching Salford in.........
....... 1989. Nailed it.
And yeah most of it has been dire but you don't choose your team, it chooses you and we stock with it through thick and thin. |

Congratulations to Salford.
Fully deserved victory and if they can go again next week, who knows what will happen.
Saints, just like Wigan, will start as firm favourites but, they will be very, very, wary about what is likely to hit them.
Win or lose, Watson should definitely receive "coach of the season" and should they actually lift the SL trophy next week, the game will have been shake up big time by one of the sports less fashionable clubs.

How do you think that those clubs at the top of the league gained their "superior" followings.
Do you think that it may have been by having some on field success or is it because they are just great clubs that play a superior brand of RL
There were almost as many Salford fans at last nights game as fans of the mighty Wigan ??

That's impossible. Salford has 3,000 fans tops, and only when the team is winning. There were nearly 10,000 fans at the ground. This would mean that Wigan had more than twice as many fans as Salford present.
