It’s ok having a go at Leigh for rolling the dice and going for SL but who doesn’t want there team to have ambition Halifax seem really well run and punch above there weight but what if they got promoted it’s probably the worst thing that could happen they’d either spend beyond there means and go broke or run on a feasible budget and get hammered the fact is every club needs someone who puts a lot of money every year to survive

Have to laugh at this comment - you do realise you're about to get the 'Halifax' years, if you think it was worth it then fine. Me I'd rather have had an ambitious bit patient Chairman and just waited for real success to finally come and more importantly stay.

Got to agree with Vasty on this one - ambition is fine, but it has to be backed up with a proper plan for sustainability and longevity; DB's reaction looks like a dummy-spit, because his plan to buy instant success has failed - and it will doubtless have a huge and deleterious effect on the club he claims to love.

If there was any justice, Widnes would have been relegated last year and Leigh should have survived. They deserved a chance to try and build for a couple of years. This is a key reason why the m8s don't work but 1 up 1 down is slightly better.

No it's not, 1 more win and we would have been in 2nd place in the championship. it's not our fault Beaumont is not interested in owning a club, who will operate on a part time basis, which he could quite easily afford to do so.

David Hughes is the disease that has killed London Broncos as a top flight RL side in my opinion, but I cannot argue against his commitment. His failure to prepare for a future without his millions is like watching a car crash on slow-motion......but his continued fiscal endeavours are the reason I still have a pro rl club to follow when I am back home and the reason that this years trip in a fortnight will probably witness the visit of a SL outfit to the wedding venue in west London we now call home......Derek by comparison shouldn't be mentioned in dispatches......glory hunting idiot who thought SL was the Grail, when in fact, self sufficiency is!

No. Roger Moore was charming, I on the other hand generally deal in facts and stats and the facts and stats show 8 wins from 42 SL games over 2 seasons and 3,000 missing fans this year compared to last show that Leigh have no place in SL. I'd say the same about London too btw.......some clubs just don't deserve to be there and Derek is just another fan who thought he knew better but didn't......thanks Del, but do us a favour....don't bother next time!

The Beaumont's as a family used to live in Astley, a village between Leigh & Boothstown (Boothstown is in Salford Astley is not) , they first had a UPVC glaziing/conservatory business in Leigh, I know as I used to kick all their s in the Leigh Pool League & a friend lived near them in Astley.

The Beaumont lads are regular working class lads done good & very, very good in DB's case !

That's why things need to change in order to stop Clubs having a free ride. Good luck to ambition when the licensing arrives again.
