I have recently been watching a tape of lancs v Yorks U11s from 1987 (featuring Saun Long and Paul Cooke) plus Leeds v warrington at Wembley, and it's so sad that maybe only three players made it to SL level. The skill amd enthuisiasm is tremendous (pushing in the scrum too) so where did all this talent go? Were they shunted aside for the Aussie quick fixes?

If you watched a game of inter-counties Under 11s from any sport twenty years ago and compared how many had gone on to make a pro career out of it, then three is probably a decent return to be honest.
The drop-out rate for elite kids in all sports is alarmingly high, for a whole number of reasons not least they grow up and decide they'd rather be doing other things. |

Wildthing, I meant on this thread. Most of your boys and girls are, as you say, quite fair in their assessment of the match. But there are a few (including the o/p) trying to find legal fault in the WC to justify the loss.
Down at the now defunct Celtic Crusaders, we always thought quite highly of your lot. |

Raising the point that 23 of 34 players in a European Superleague game are non fed trained + a guy from RU is a legitimate subject for the VT. Though regretably uncomfortable for some.

Yes you are raising a valid point, a tad unfair on the Crusaders though, but both clubs are within the rules.
However, even though you deny it, once again you have started a thread bemoaning the Wakefield club.
Did you start a thread when Wigan cheated regarding the S.C or when Hull F.C fielded an illegible player in the C.C?
Sorry, that was a rhetorical question.

Not having a dig at Quins I'm trying to show the troll that the comparison cannot be made yet i.e. Crusaders in SL for less than two seasons being compared to a team that has been there for years.
