| Quote: Oval Ball "How can a charity match even start to help on the scale of things, we dont live in a third world country, people have insurances and they probably dont need handouts and charity, which would probably be peanuts any way. Keep the monies inside the clubs as it should be kept. Dimwit!'"
I've never said it is. In fact, if you read any of my posts what you'll actually see is that I'm saying forget the match - if you want to give, then give. If you don't, then don't.
What I'm not saying - as you seem to be - is that we should all keep our money in our pockets regardless and be happy that the poor sods running around, risking their lives to care for vulnerable people should just do so because they get paid already.
And since I wouldn't want to offend you again, you're a pathetic cretin.

| Quote: Derwent "Speaking as someone from Workington, I'd like to see a fund raising game but for the proceeds to go to the volunteer organisations that have risked their own safety to help others during this awful time.
The likes of the mountain rescue teams and the RNLI crews have been fantastic and it would be nice to give them something back in return for them to get new equipment etc'"
Agree totally,
The idea of 'some kind of RL game' is a very good one.
The locals get a morale boosting match to watch in what are very upsetting times consisting of (hopefully) SL select players (I'm sure each club would allow at [ileast[/i 1 player from the club to volunteer along with 1 SL coach) and the emergency services that have been out there risking life and limb for no financial reward get some money (no matter how small) towards upkeeping/grading their equipment / facilitys.

Read the title of the thread properly... [iShould[/i there be a Cumbria Flood Fund Game?
To save you the bother of reading my previous posts and embarassing yourself; I think a match would be a good thing. But there is way of giving if you feel like you want to.
I'm such a ponce for actually giving a toss about other people.

ok give money to cumbria, because they are an isolated group of indigenous tribes, who live in mud huts, feed off the land and who have only a witch doctor for their medical needs, oooh noo sorry my mistake thats the Kayapo tribe of Brazil!!
We live in England in the 21st Century, we can deal with a little extra water surely!

The RNLI, Mountain Rescue and the likes could do with the money, though.

| Based on Oval Balls genius;
How can a paper poppy support the family of a soldier killed in conflict?
How can a plastic daffidil support cander sufferers?
How can a sports match support Help for Heroes or the Tsunami fund?
Fact is it does because people with far more intellect than yourself devise ways for which it can do. Children in Need recently raised £18 million approx) Now sure there were big amounts raised - we all saw the big cheques with Wogan.
But, if everyone gave 50p then £30 million would have been raised. Im not suggesting that should happen. People have the right to choose the charities they support but anyone who thinks small amounts dont do anything might well need the support of a charity themself!

And there is the summary of this disgraceful country. Begging for causes that should be provided for by the people running the country, absolute disgrace.
Put a free game on to provide a distraction, to help lift the gloom yes, but on the scrounge for money-NO
