Also does anyone now what is happening with Dan Sarginson? Apparently Rovers and Wigan in for him. But I've heard a rumour he's already signed for Wigan.

Walmsley to Brisbane in 2019 makes sense. Tatatese has just signed for Bronco's for 1 year (201icon_cool.gif and then will be replaced by Warmsley.

The Catalans signing of PNG captain and superstar David Mead on a three year contract will give a big boost to Super League's television viewership and Catalans attendances. Mead said he was interested in immersion in the magnificent French culture. Both he and fellow PNG'er Garry Lo (Castleford) will carve up the SL competition.

I think all the returnees, including from yawnion, have flopped in SL.

Have I missed any? None of those that have returned have gotten close to their previous form at the club. If Sarginson is the same they really need to look at recruitment policy. Arguably makes keeping players in the first place harder as they'll know they can always stroll back into the club if they fail elsewhere.

Wigans recruitment has been diabolical so far for a team that wants to challenge for silverware. I mean they haven't exactly improved the starting 17 that got beat 36-0 in their last game ave they?

Sargison started OK at the titans but then went completely to pieces. Just like Burgess, Eden and Hardaker before him he was atrocious in the collision - falling off tackles and generally looking like a junior playing open age for the first time. We need to get more outside backs coming through SL that aren't afraid of the physical side of the game.

We’ve signed a couple of squad players and get back Escare, Burgess, Flower and O’Loughlin who didn’t play in that game. Fingers crossed we’ll also have Manfredi back after nearly two years out come April/May. It’ll clearly take him some time to get up and running but that’s a new signing in itself.

To be fair. A fully fit Wigan squad as it stands is better than 80% of the teams in super league so I wouldnt worry about their recruitment

He may become a star but isn't it a bit sad the a club like Widnes feel the need to recruit PNG players from the Queensland Cup - is DL really that poor?

Not a dig at Widnes all SL clubs are as bad.

In its hey day there were not enough RL to accommodate the talent in the UK now it's the other way around - there is something clearly wrong at gras roots level. There are far more teams and people on the M62 corridor than in PNG yet that's where we are looking, it's frickin criminal.

Once you'd edited your first reply. Agree the current state of some of super league isn't great but this lad is definitely an improvement on what widnes currently have. It's not hard but he caught my eye in the World Cup, albeit not over great opposition.

My club Wakefield have just signed 2 NRL players both of whom I believe will do well.

Pauli Pauli I get he's huge and we just don't produce that kind of player. All the same he's a reject.

Randell couldn't get a start at one of the NRLs worst clubs. He's a hooker ffs - since when did my club need to import hookers when I started watching in the 80s we had so many we had to give them away! Yet the truth is we hasn't produced a decent one in years.

Look at Wigan they used to sign superstars now it Sarginson who frankly is the bang in bang average. Hell we signed Wally Lewis!!

People are getting excited about Mead now - seriously - he's crocked one way or another. There is no sane reason with a weak pound and a cash rich NRL that a still half decent would join SL. He may do ok but anybody expecting the player of old will be massively dissapointed as has been the constant case in recent years.

We need to put faith in youth and give it time - sadly with P&R that won't happen and quick fix will always be the way. There is talent out there but it needs nurturing far more than it is.
