| I'm giggling at the desperate attempts to suggest Wire are a one man team. The fact is the man is there, and the man is doing the business right now.
It's silly to point out that without Briers we're a less dangerous team, it's a bit like saying "apple crumble without custard is a bit boring, really".
My hope is that Myler's watching what Briers does and is learning, even if he isn't applying right now. But whether Myler improves the organisational side of his game or not, there is a simple fact that Wire need a replacement for Briers when he retires (whenever that ends up being).

| Quote ="Odemwingie"Was expecting a cracker tonight but didn't get it. Leeds look very poor and make too many errors, they are not timing their runs well at all and they look easy to beat in defence. Warrington are a quality side but I don't think they will win super league untill they get a better 7, Myler is not good enough as a 7 IMO. Warrington also need to tighten up their defence. They are a team who would rather win 40-24 thans 24-6.... similar margin but I know what kind of results I prefer when the title is decided on play-off games. The only thing I enjoyed about tonights game was a couple of really high quality tries.'"
Take off those blinkers. Myler has been brilliant this year, creating and scoring tries, aswell as dictating play and seems to have sharpened up his kicking game. He also looks very good in defence. You say Warrington letting in tries, but we let in 1 more than you did against Salford, yes Salford and also squandered a 16 point lead versus Saints.

Bore off. Myler has been great this season, defence has improved dramatically. Last year he had a better average of tries/assists combined than both Tomkins and Eastmond. Your post tastes a tad bitter. It's clear your not willing to give us any credit for our wonderful attacking play. I wonder if you wished any season ending injuries on Leeds players last night? That's a hobby of yours.

| Leeds are an enigma.
You never really know what team is going to turn up.
Against Warrington they went back to their old boring twist and mess about at the PTB and we'll wind em up and bash the opposition forwards.
It failed spectacularly.
Yet they have shown they can move the ball about, play the kind of RL that Warrington played ( a la T Smith), and not prat about at the PTB and win.
Leeds followers are in for a frustrating season I reckon.

| I though wire were impressive and to score so many unanswered points (32 was it?) takes some doing against what is still a good Leeds team. Wire have their injuries, (as do Leeds, Wigan etc) but seem to have the squad to cope with it, their pack last night was very good without Morley for most of the game. I'm not Mylers biggest fan but I thought he was better last night, although like many have said, he needs to step it up if he's to really impress. Briers just called the shots last night, we at Wigan could do with a kicking game like his, and Monoghan is quality, that kick to Riley was fantastic. This Wire team is an inprovemnt on last years if you ask me.

Looking ahead to the match v Saints in 2 weeks. I can see Leeds winning that purely because they have the tools to defeat Saints. eg a good kicking game and pace out wide. Saints backs wont live with those of Leeds, and i predict we will be picked apart down the flanks.
Leeds fans will probably worry about their defence, however Saints defence is almost as porous. I therefore expect this game to be a tryathon.'"
As a Leeds fan, I pessimistically disagree. I am very down about our prospects this season.

| Unless Leeds improve in the basics - structure in attack and defence and some actual consistent hard work from the forwards, we'll win nothing this year.

I’ll probably reserve judgement until the Leeds coach at least has his first choice front row and perhaps his stand-off (and probably most potent attacking player) back playing

| It is too early to talk of sacking McDermott but things don't look good for Leeds. Missing Leuluai and Delaney cost us a lot of go-forward (in addition to long-term absentees Peacock, Bailey & McGuire). A bigger worry is our defence which has been poor in every game this season. This new emphasis on throwing the ball around also tends to backfire as much as resulting in points for Leeds.
I hate to say it, but Leeds under McDermott so far are beginning to look more and more like Bradford under McNamara. Let's see how Mac goes with a few more first choice props fit...

| Why do Warrington need Myler to call shots when they have Monaghan and Briers doing a fine job of it already! Give the kid a chance and he might just surprise a few, after all, as mentioned before, we lost only 2 of ten without Briers last year. Doing a great job for me, more of the same please Richie!

Let's hope so, eh!
In all seriousness, it appears that the British coaches in SL are way behind the Aussie ones. McNamara, Agar, McDermott haven't taken their clubs in the right direction. Kear has an inconsistent track record. Noble has been forced out. There's only Harris and Powell we don't really know about yet, but if their predecessors are anything to go by it won't be looking too good. Powell has gotten off to a good start though at least.
