| Quote: Father Ted "His views on some of our grounds are hardly surprising. First impressions count and his first away game was at Leeds. A dump if ever there was one!'" His quote is confusing. If he is referring to the pitches at UK grounds then places like Leeds and, indeed, Wigan at times will not have impressed (whereas Wakey for example will have done). If he is referring to the behind the scenes stuff that players see - changing rooms etc then places like Leeds and most of the flatpack stadia will be up there with the Aussie stuff whilst Cas for example would not.
The third option is that he is referring to spectator comfort. But that seems unlikely.

| He played in the Cup at Post Office Road, I'd expect that's where the cow paddock comment came from. Not exactly controversial

| Quote: Sheldon "So on that's basis the ground where they play the grand final, origin and host the big Sydney derbys is average cause it's too big? Utter drivel.'"
Been to ANZ numerous times and yep it is a crap ground for club games. Great when 50K+ in it but given 99% of club games played there get sub 20k its moon like atmosphere kills the enjoyment of being at the game. Throw in a lack of anything around it, pain to get to, terrible look for the game on TV with 60,000 empty seats and 90% of RL fans in Sydney dislike of it as a club ground and I think I can safely say the RL majority would agree with me. Be like London Broncos playing at Wembley and suggesting it is a great venue for SL games.

| Oh right so it's atmosphere now.
So Leichardt must be a good ground on a sunny weekend afternoon?
Your criteria is inconsistent.

| I'm amazed that the government owns most of the grounds.

Atmosphere is one factor, amongst many. Leichardt is a poor ground anz is an avg ground, IMO.

One of the most iconic sporting stadiums in the world, most players would love to play there every week. Manly loved it last year and Melbourne will love it this year. I sit in my old seat every home game and feel proud to be part of a club and ground steeped in history and heritage. You would all secretly miss it if it suddenly disappeared. Ask the Salford fans if they would rather be back at the "dump" that was The Willows, i think you'd get an unequivocal Yes. The new place is a soulless flatpack nightmare.

| Salford's new stadium is crap though.
If they had one like the KC now, they'd never want to see the Willows ever again.
