He still went back a better player than he came though.

| Andy Purcell, the former Hull forward, is a good shout. Came over here as a total unknown, was turned away after a trial at Batley, played a season with Swinton, and then popped up a year or so later in first-grade at Cronulla Sharks.

My personal one is Glenn Hall for the Cowboys and had two mediocre seasons at Bradford, regularly playes for NQC and high up on stats too. Also Fulton was pretty bad for Hudds, again he is a regular for Wests Tigers.
The following players all played round 21 over the weekend.
C.Best , C.Newton , J.Ryles , Ryan Hoffman , G.Bird , D.Johnson , G,Hall , G.Ellis , L.Fulton , S.Berrigan , D.Buderus , W.Mason , J.Graham , G.Eastwood , M.King , S.Burgess , L.Burgess.'"
Didn't realise these were overseas players 'who went back'.
Pedantic I know.
Top of my head though, Heremaia has got to be up there.

| Shane Elford for Huddersfield aswell. He was dropped to the reserves at one point left by mutual agreement with him still in contract. Moved back to Australia and had a better season with Penrith. Fulton aswell.

Deffo, could also add Dan Stains, Michael Hagan to that. Grant Rix would have gone on to be a top class player aswell had he not suffered badly from injuries and retired young.

| Jamie Lyon, hands down.
Left Aus as a nutty pig farmer and has won it all since returning.

| Gavin Miller. He might have played Origin briefly but by the time Rovers signed him he was playing reserve grade at Easts & his early career potential had disappeared.
Roger Millward revolutionised his game, turning him from a grafting back rower into a ball player. He won the Man of Steel at Rovers.
After he went back he dominated the game for 3-4 seasons, winning the Dally M & Rothmans medals, captaining Cronulla to the minor premiership, captaining NSW & playing for Australia.
Rovers only signed him because they couldn't get a work permit for Noel Cleal. He arrived a virtual unknown & went back the best player in the world.

Have to agree Miller was the 1st i thought of, then Martin Bella & Tony Martin when he went from London to Melbourne.

| Tonie Carroll. Came over here as a Kiwi, went back Australian. Awesome turn around because I thought he was pretty ordinary over here.
