I remember that one really vividly, think it was right at then end of the game as well. I think Andy Kirk was the Salford player tackled. Still my fave tackle ever!

That's also on that well known website too.

| Look at any SOO compilation and you will find several.
The most intense games in this code has the most savage tackles.
I always recall one where Trevor "The Axe" Gillmeister caught a NSW player from behind as he was running back into the line and nearly cut him in two.
A Test series where David Gillespie (Cement) was on the bench and when he was brought on the GB Captain said after the game "I saw a player go off injured and thought we were getting on top and then I saw Gillespie coming on, "oh no not this Lad"
Hit like a Train.

| Keith Mumby against Hull in their 80's prime. 2 on 1. Mumby tackled 1st player as he passed, stood up and tackled 2nd player stopping a certain try. Strictly speaking it's 2 tackles in space of a second but never seen it done since.
John Pendlebury in 87 cup final. Never the fastest but came from nowhere to tackle Mark Elia as he dived over line to "win" it for saints. Cannot remember another last ditch tackle so late in the game that was so important.

| This could go on forever. Like it one hell of a lot though.
Burgess on Moimoi was probably the best example of how to turn yourself into the immovable object. Timed it perfectly and just nailed his feet to the ground.
Mozza showed some amazing agression and power during his time in the NRL.
If anybody has footage of Fata Sini playing for Salford against Oldham, at Boundary Park, can you get it on facebook? Oldham's winger looked like he was in at the corner, when Fata came out of nowhere and shoulder barged the Oldham player straight into the ground. Possibly, the best display of raw power I've ever seen.

| As a young lad i was over awed by Ray "Perpetual-Motion" Price every time he tackled whilst watching Wakey..
However a tackle that sticks out that ive never forgot was when i was 10 watching on TV between St Helens v Wigan in 1990 Challenge Cup Semi Final. Joe Lydon was bombing down the wing and Ray french mentioned he was going to score and Gary Connelly playing for Saints travelled across the field and made a copy book tackle that made Lydon ground it short.
Although there's been many more i just remember being 10 and new to the game thinking wow that was good!! Theres highlights on metube under St Helens v Wigan (Rugby League) - 1990 Challenge Cup Semi Final
