Hmm....let's hope those billions of cockneys the RFL reckon are going all hang around for the final whistle.....Wembley with 20,000 in it will not be a good look

As with the shirt, why not an announcement date for the squad to drum up some interest?'"
As we all have differing opinions, is there a quota of the squad that needs to match our own personal choices to attend??
Or is one player missing enough?

| One thing time rfl could have done was have RLWC merchandise vans at SL games selling tickets for games and England and rlwc merchandise. Seems you have a perfect opportunity to sell direct to your main audience at SL games.

| Is unreasonable to think we could sell out a few non England games ? Games at Craven Park, Leigh, Salford and The Shay could be sold out if all RL fans got behind the tournament. Some of the tickets going for less then a tenner and big discounts for group bookings.
Really want to see this tournament a success its our chance to show RL is long from being dead in this country.

| Having a quick look at total attendances at previous world cups it would seem we are close to improving on the total attendance in the 2008 world cup down under.
Still think we should be looking to smash that though seen as this seems to be the most well thought out International Tournament in a long while.

Quote Rugby League World Cup 2013 (RLWC2013) is coming and you have an opportunity to buy tickets to one of the biggest sporting events in the UK this year, and to make a huge difference to children in Papua New Guinea (PNG) as the Rugby Football League works in conjunction with the Stanley Gene Foundation to help change lives.
On Sunday 27 October, Hull will host its very first RLWC2013 game as PNG take on France at the home of Hull Kingston Rovers – MS3 Craven Park, kick off at 4.00pm.
The same venue also stages the game between PNG and Samoa on Monday 4 November, kick off at 8.00pm.
Hull is a hotbed of rugby league, with some very strong links to PNG. None more so than being the adopted city of former PNG rugby league star and ex-Hull Kingston Rovers & Hull FC player Stanley Gene.
Stanley recognises the invaluable contribution rugby league and Hull has made to his life in the UK, so much so that he’s set up his own foundation to help people back home in his native PNG.
The Stanley Gene Foundation is committed to reaching the unreachable communities of PNG and educating young Papua New Guineans in order to give them the tools to make a better future for themselves.
RLWC2013 has witnessed the work of the Stanley Gene Foundation and the results they’re achieving and they have very kindly created Hull’s own special promotional code for both of the games at MS3 Craven Park.
The code is SGF.
For each ticket purchased for the games at MS3 Craven Park using code SGF, RLWC2013 will donate £5.00 to the foundation.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.rlwc2013.com/ or by calling the ticket hotline 0844 847 2013 – but remember to use or quote the code SGF.
Thank you for your support.
Kind regards

| Stole this off another forum but Chris Irvine and Phil Caplan have stated on Twitter following RLWC2013 briefing today that the Lower bowl at Cardiff virtually sold out, 40k+ sold for final, turnover will exceed £15m & financial objectives will be met. Workington, Rochdale & Avignon heading for sell-outs/big crowds. Neath, Hull KR & Halifax going very well too. More tickets sold outside traditional areas than in!

good stuff, the only slight concern for me is the lack of news and buzz about the England games at Huddersfield and Hull. They still haven't even opened up the full lower bowls of either ground as yet. Hopefully sales will pick up once the SL season ends, and obviously an England win against the Aussies in Cardiff will get tickets flying!

I think the Huddersfield game is selling pretty well, the entire lower bowl seems to be open but they just haven't updated the website for some reason. If the Hull forum is anything to go by, the Fiji game will be lucky to get 10k because it seems like the people of Hull would rather sit at home and complain about somehow being 'shafted' despite being the only city to receive three (strong) matches.

I hope your going to eat humble pie after that statement. Hull is the hotbed for our sport, and the public will support the 3 games in great numbers. Craven park will sell out for both games, and I expect no less then 15,000 at the KC for the England game. Wait and see eh, but apart from slagging the good folk of Hull off, why try not to be a bit more positive eh!!

| Read what you want. I expect Humble pie to be eaten when the attendances are announced after the games have been played in Hull. But you have a point. Why we were never given a quarter final game baffles me.

Although it features England it is probably a less attractive game than the png games which will be blood and thunder affairs. Hopefully the low ticket cost will attract people but I would agree it will likely draw 15-18000.

it'll take more than that.
8k for both Caravan Park games and 16,500 for the KC....the organisers have dropped their drawers instead of creating demand.
delighted to be proven wrong BTW..

People should probably wise up a bit. Fiji will be a good side and will give it to England. I fully expect us to win but it won't be a non-contest with most of the Fiji side playing in the NRL.

| I fully expect over twenty thousand to be at the KC for the Fiji game. Hull folk are notorious for buying tickets last minute, but rest assured they will. With the new stand at Craven park pushing the capacity well over eleven thousand, expect over forty thousand attending the three games in Hull.

the way the KC's designed (with the upper tier not facing the camera's) 16500 would look almost full for the TV.
that said, all of the internationals at the KC so far have been 20K+ crowds, and I think people will buy later than for the 'marquee' events such as the Opening Ceremony and Semi Finals.
Good to see that i've again got an e-mail from Orange marketing the event, you can't say the RFL aren't trying this time.
