To me this shows that Wakie have grown & had some quality players in recent years, its a real shame that the previous owners sold all the decent ones for what now looks like personal gain only!
BTW I am not trying to start an academy argument about how good or bad ours is.

This is the way we should look in 3-5 years. Every club should be allowed 1 overseas player. And the rest should all be homegrown, The only way we will ever compete with the Aussies.
Fwiw, I cant see the league table been too much different if this was done. Maybe improvements from Huddersfield & Cas, The rest would still be there or there abouts

Protectionism won't help us to compete with the Kangaroos. There'd be a bigger pool of British full-time professionals, but that doesn't neccessarily increase quality. It might even diminish it, if the standard of the competition is weakened. |

Most of those came through Wakefields Academy with a few from Wigan, hardly any homegrown. Truly shocking. |
