Be interesting to see if this gamble on size and grunt pays off.

Would be delighted if true. Our backs were our biggest strength last year so if we can make them even more space behind a big pack then we should be in for a good year hopefully. Only issue I would have with the squad would be hooker but that can't be helped.

Most have been agreed by Stone as he wants to strip the team back and build his own squad, it seems Huby requested this move on his own though and Hudds were planning on keeping him

Huby was pretty gash for us for two years. Ashadow of his cas days.

The combination of Andersons coaching and ferries doing the dirty with his wife ruined him.

For the sake of consistency, it would be helpful if fans of the previous clubs of both Huby and Allgood would post to tell us how crap they are and as a consequence, what rubbish signings Wakefield have made.

Really poor post for you - I accept Huby wasn't a success for you and you've given a few reasons why but to suggest a third rate Aussie would be better is insulting to a player who even with issues was way better than that.

Personally I don't think he will regain his Cas form, however he's a classy player with a few years left in him and a useful addition to any squad.

I liked Mitch Allgood. Copped a lot of stick from some fans. Plays with a lot of aggression but sometimes it spills over like when he lamped Scot Deureaux. If he was a couple of stone heavier, he'd be a world beater. He played most of last year injured when he really should have taken time out. Always put the team before himself.

Not knocking Huby after being coached by Anderson and his personal issues it is a credit to him that he still wants to play.

He was great at cas offloading ball playing etc. Whatever was good at cas was lost when Anderson got a hold of him

Just that for us he never really did anything. So although we have lost a player we are not really weaker.

We have lost a lot of players and most of our fans are not really unhappy about it.

If anything it is the fact we don't feel happy about our recruitment.

Stone whether he turns out to be good or not has been good at shifting players out.

It is just our MD bringing his players in that is the problem

Kevin Brown has left Widnes and has signed for Warrington with immediate effect.

They will be BIG boots to fill.
Brown has been immense for Widnes for a number of seasons and he will be a big miss.

Joe Mellor has now been given the number 6 shirt and Tom Gilmore has been given the number 7 shirt. Just hope they can form a good partnership. But you are right he will be a big loss for us.

Widnes will no doubt miss Brown but they might end up with a better player in Todd Carney.

Brown has been a consistent performer whereas Carney has been an injury prone disappointment
