Considering that the BBC is now based in Salford the majority of the sports reporting is still Southern based, unless it concewrns Man U or Man C.

Wall to wall coverage of tennis, every match from the "Confederation divers competion Cup" and no Super League Fulltime tipped the balance for me.

Daily Mail haven't even bothered to report on last nights game on their website.

Gary Richardson's "Sportsweek' radio show every Sunday morning on 5live.....It is supposed to discuss ALL the big sporting news of the week...we'd better get some decent coverage on that for the World Cup.

It is a license fee funded broadcaster and as such is supposed to cater to a true cross section of society. The ridiculously expensive vanity project that is MediaCity was supposed to remedy the corporation's north/south divide, but in reality it has done very little.

Quick word on the printed press, the big games often struggle to get coverage in the nationals due to 8pm kick offs running too close to the submission deadline.

You can bet your bottom dollar no-one at the RFL has said anything to the BBC in the last 20 years regarding lack of coverage/reporting & promotion of specific events etc

Because they still have their heads stuck in the 1950's .......

If you look at the changes to SL ownership in the last few years, the RFL had better up their game or lose control of it.

The financial clout available to Wigan & Leeds is being matched after takeovers by very successful businessmen at Warrington, Huddersfield, Widnes, and now Bradford & Salford. How long do you think they will be held back in promoting their clubs (and curtailing the potential incomes) by the "we can't leave the traditional clubs behind" attitude held by the RFL? And that includes shying away from shouting loudly at the BBC over lack of coverage.

But for a betting or drug scandal ? They'd have cleared the back page.

And they say there's no agenda.
