So he doesn't know how to dive then? He's worse than I thought!

dickens played half a season of SL with salford in their return to SL (can't remember which of the 3 it was) season, and slinked off back to fev with no fanfare.

What difference does that make? Are you saying that because hes a prop he can not go low to score a try?
Bailey seen it was Mathers and thought he'd be able to knock him out the way and he failed miserable. To be honest, he could have just run on a slight angle and Mathers wouldn't have been able to get under the ball. Or as others have said, if he goes low theres no way Mathers is stopping him.

| Do you see many props ducking to get over the line?
Do you see them either being short or held up 9 times out of 10?

He should have stooped in Mathers' midrift then flopped over the line, not tried to be the hardman and stand up and bulldoze him out of the way.
I sometimes see Cunningham being held up over the line too and he is a hooker, so don't know what your point is.
Whatever position a player is, if he is top class then they should know how to score a try in those circumstances.

They don't usually break the line, but when they do they should score that close to the line, with only one man to beat. He didn't have to duck, simply dive low over the line and he scores, which he should have done. Its irrelevant what position he is, he should have known to do that. He tried to be the big man, it back fired. Simple as that really.

| What does Bailey actually offer to Leeds ? Every time I see this guy play he's ethier trying to pick a fight with someone like on Saturday or he's aways trying to beat his own record for the highest shot possible, Leeds have some good players but im afraid Bailey let's the club down.

Fa'asavalu has done the same in the past, only much much worse.

Are you thinking of the game at Quins (can't remember who the defender was though)

He has, and he should have scored also.
Are you thinking of the one against Quins, when Sherriffe (?) made a very good tackle? If you are, the only difference is that the Quins defender wasn't stood basically on the line, so Fa'asavalu either had to run over him or round him, but i am confident that if he had run on an angle he would have scored, but he too tried to be the big man and smash over the defender and failed. Were as Bailey broke the line about 10metres away from the line and Mathers was basically stood on, maybe even over, the try line so Bailey only had to dive low and there is no way he is getting stopped.

I think it was ricky sherrif. IIRC he stopped him short of the line.
Didn't Faasavalu score in 6 consecutive league games one year (including a game at headingly)?

Possibly. If Maurie did score in six consecutive games none of them could have close to the line, unless of course he was playing at hooker, cos then he would know how to dive for the line.

| i find it amazing that an average player like bailey creates so much fuss. every week there is a thread about him.
he does a decent job in our side, no more or less than that. he won't be among the top earners either.
also theres no comment about the two backs who were held up over the line on saturday,or maybe this isn't on peoples agendas?

The thread is about Bailey, start another thread if you about backs if you wish. In any case, a back or a prop which is the bigger and stronger? Bailey was running straight (got that, straight) at the line and Mathers was stood on or possibly behind the line and Bailey still couldn't score. This is all because he wanted to knock Mathers into next week rather than dive low and score.
