| Quote ="gutterfax"England need to win Group A or to finish 3rd in the group for that to happen...If they finish 3rd, then they will met Australia in the 2nd Wembley Semi-Final and I believe Fiji would play NZ in the curtain raiser.
Can't see past England v Kiwis and Fiji v Australia in the semi's though....anyone who thinks the Australians might be tired, or not up for it doesn't understand Australians....they are smarting from 2008 and want their Trophy back.'"
The 4th semi finalist is wide open. Fiji are good, PNG are good, Samoa are good, Tonga are good, Italy are good, Scotland are good. France have two home games so might sneak a quarter final against a team they can beat.
Only the Welsh, irish. Cooks and USA seem to be forlorn hope teams.

The other semi-finalist will be1 from:
Fiji
PNG
France
Samoa
The teams in Groups C and D have no chance.....if they win their group they then play one of England, Australia and New Zealand in their quarter final.
Fiji only need to beat Ireland to make the Quarter-Finals.....whereas the other 3 will have knocked lumps out of each other. PNG are an unknown, I don't see the French being much stronger than 2008 when they were poor and Samoa looked decidedly average v Tonga earlier this year.
The more I think about it, Fiji v PNG could well be the Quarter final that decides who loses to Australia in the second Wembley game.

Good enough to beat Australia, England or New Zealand in a RLWC Quarter-Final?

Well, Australians always brag that they can put out two or three teams capable of beating England. Italy will be virtually an Australian 2nd team and Tonga and PNG will have substantial numbers of NRL players so we will have to wait and see. I can see Italy winning their group for instance and getting a favourable quarter final draw.

With the exception of England and France the remaining 12 teams will have more than a liberal sprinkling of NRL stars representing.......but that's a different thread entirely.

The last Wales squad had not a single NRL player in it.. won't be much different in the World Cup. Strangely they will soon be catching up to the Wales soccer squad in terms of percent of Welsh born players in the squadicon_wink.gif

| Good question. I'm pretty sure it was to the whole event, as it stuck in my mind that from the last figure we heard it had gone up by 50000 tickets sold.

| Heavy marketing at the final for the Semi-Final with posters all over the ground and several video's before kick-off. Such a shame that the final itself was probably the biggest turn-off for RL in years!

| I'm worried about the appearance of Wembley on RLWC Semi Finals day, and particularly so after yesterday's CC Final when an alleged 78,000 in attendance looked as empty as it did.
How empty is an officially announced attendance of around 60,000 going to look on TV? Assuming the attendance includes all those empty ring of indifference seats and other empty Club Wembley seats around the halfway line on the lower tiers.

Club Wembley is not part of the 'season ticket' for the World Cup Semi-Finals. Therefore those seats will be filled and will look much better on TV than the Challenge Cup match the other day. The aim of the RLWC team should be to sell all the upper tier tickets in front of the camera before opening up the rest of the upper tier for the semi finals; they should also do that for the Challenge Cup too.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware of that. Huge relief all round! We just need to sell those seats now.

They are selling really well; I've managed to sell 50 tickets in Club Wembley myself to work colleagues so can't see that area not selling out.

| Good news about the club wembley.it will now look better on t.v if we only sell 60k than the challenge cup finals in recent years which have pulled 20k more.

Bet the view from those seats is fantastic! just the right height, without the 'overhang' from the tier above that the top rows of the lower tier suffers from.

At the Four Nations in 2011, I sat in the back row of the lower tier; it was still a great view. At the Cup Final on Saturday, I was in the first row of the Upper Tier; again a fantastic view. The worst one I have so far was near the top of the Upper Tier at the Cup Final last year but even that was a decent view. I am looking forward to Club Wembley immensely but I don't think there is a bad view in the entire stadium at Wembley.
