That's disgraceful. Don't stay in hotels often so never heard of people doing it. I'm presuming it's legal but it really shouldn't. |

That is terrible! What an awful thing to happen! Legally, can they do this?

Hotel costs is the reason the missus and I are staying in Carlisle. It’s only an hour on the train from Carlisle and hotels are cheap as chips there

This kind of stuff happened with the Cardiff Hoteliers all those years ago.
We always use to book a place that was a 30 min train ride away.
I wonder if the hotels do it when Newcastle are playing there football at home or is it just an opportunity to hit the rugby fans in the pocket being a weekender.

I would presume it's only when there is something going on for the full weekend, I can't imagine there are too many fans staying over on Away days. Usually just the train/coach back and get absolutely spangled! I spent mi last £30 for month last weekend on an away day coach ride home. Worth it though man. |

It’s supply and demand. At any event, or anytime when hotel rooms are in high demand, they will charge more for them. |

continuing to have it so far away will always mean that the RFL have to undersell it so they get a few bods and it also restricts how many people not just from the traditional areas of the sport but those beyond the M62 corridor will attend.
Wouldn't surprise me if there's a 10% drop-off in attendance over the weekend.
I for one hope it's the last time there and we find a more accessible location.
