I’ll be certain to pop along to it.

It’s unbelievable. In the space of 2 days there’s over £100k raised including gift aid.
It’s been humbling to see both how it’s clearly affected Burrow and how willing ordinary people have been willing to part with their hard earned money at a time when they can’t have much spare.

You can sit there and refresh the page and there will have been another £500-£1000 donated in such a short space of time by so many people.

The response is a sign of the affection for the man. Weirdly I think I was at Burrows Leeds debut away at Warrington. I’m a Wigan fan but me and a couple of mates were short of something to do one Saturday or Sunday and went along to Wilderspool to watch the game as a neutral. You don’t see many lads of the stature of Burrow playing at the top level but from day one he looked special.

I’m sure this response from the rugby league community this past day and a half is only the start.

I'd like to think some of that money will be gifted to research for a cure for all. I realise the bulk of it is intended for Rob which is fair enough but it needs acknowledging that he's not alone.

Perhaps once the amount needed to help Rob in a meaningful way has been hit then the Rhinos and RL, in general, adopt this charity on a game-wide basis, assuming there is a research fund set up?

It might just be me but I feel uncomfortable with charities aimed at one celebrity victim whilst others get nothing. I'm prepared to be shot down on this but there you go. I had a similar issue with Jamie Rooney's boy some years ago, it was great up to a point but then it became unfair IMHO for one boy to get so much more than the rest.

That wasn't his debut, it was his first start, and Powell's first game as coach. Leeds were well beaten, but Burrow scored a great try from the scrum

23 - 20 - 4 Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png

Literally could not have happened to a nicer, more genuine lad.

Even as a Wigan fan watching him break our hearts many times, never once felt an ounce of bad feeling towards him on the pitch. Quite the opposite infact, always a joy to watch.

So sad.

Im auctioning a couple of items on Twitter @Rhinoshaund_VI

1st item - 2005 GF Match Ball signed by Leeds Rhinos a couple of weeks after the final in the Supporters Club where I worked. The ball is from the 1st penalty kicked by Paul Deacon which i caught in the crowd. Honestly, its my most prized RL possession but if it gets a bit of money for Rob and his family I am willing to part with it.

2nd Item - A medium, unworn, 2017 Leeds Rhinos home shirt signed on the front by the 2017 squad. Again, its special to me but like I said, its a worthy cause.

Head on to my Twitter for pics and make me an offer. Ends Boxing day, and Ill be at the game to deliver.

Awful news. My gran passed from MND, it's a bsatard of a disease.

I remember bumping into Rob in Philadelphia airport of all places, can't remember the year but around 2007/8ish maybe? He was sitting on the floor near the boarding gate waiting for the same flight as me back to Manchester. I think he was with his Mrs and at the back of my mind he may have been to Vegas.

Anyway, I worked for the airline in question at the time and asked the gate staff and crew if there were any business class seats left for a GB RL player. Tried to explain who he was but they didn't really 'get it', and I'm not sure there were any seats left anyway. Either way I couldn't get him an upgrade [i[size(if you've ever tried to get a humane response out of Philly or indeed NYC airport staff you'll understand)[/size[/i. Didn't want to bother him so he never knew.

Wishing him all the best.
