Are you suggesting I should exclude it from the attendance figures because it's not as "like-for-like" as you'd like it and therefore contributes to painting an unfavourable SL attendance picture in 2013 compared to last year?
Swings and roundabouts.
Catalan hosted Hull KR at Toulouse in Round 19 which provided an official agenda attendance of 14,898 compared to the more normal attendance of 7,337 in Perpignan in 2012. The consequence of that [i"Toulouse for SL agenda attendance"[/i resulted in Round 19 fixtures being one of only two rounds all season to provide a higher aggregate attendance than the same fixtures between the same teams in 2012. Unsurprisingly, the other was the opening round of the brand new season. |

I'm bitterly disappointed at only managing 5th place in the Billy Eve Super Irritated League for 2013. Considering all the hours that Billy has spent on compiling this and the attendance table I really should take myself to task for not taking the same amount of time to climb higher up the ladder.
Just one question for Billy then its my off-season. With all the time you spend in maintaining your spreadsheets and giving us chapter and verse on the ills of the Super League, do you actually have time to attend any matches.

Congratulations on your current Top 4 placement, despite the fact you were never going to compete with the consistent week in week out commitment of the impressive Smokey for the LLS. His only genuine challenger was The Printer until a mid-season collapse saw him lose all motivation in his quest to discredit the weekly SL attendance figures this season.
A huge thanks to Speccy for his entertainment value. His outbursts were so amusing that he felt compelled to create his very own thread calling for several bans and the removal of moderators/admins! ![]()
Your latest super-irritated response is noted but did I say I attended Championship games instead? Why would I be interested in a competition reduced to a sham and populated in the main by clubs in dual-registered subservience to SL clubs who dumped their reserve grades? |

During the current franchised, 14 club, top 8 play-off system SL era... the total attendances in SL in 2013 are the lowest we have ever witnessed. Neither the replacement of the poorly-supported Crusaders with the better-supported Widnes, nor the establishment of 2 new stadia, nor the sundry availability of heavily-discounted SL tickets via cheap Groupon/BOGOF/Buddy offers, nor the latest begging-bowl grab free shirts and discounts on season tickets next year if you pay a tenner to watch Bradford then they might pay the players and tax bills on time and avoid the next winding-up order, nor the best super sizzling summer we've had since 2006 has prevented 2013 SL attendances from being the worst on record.
