Nah he went through a slump for a month or so.
I think Clarke would be the correct player to receive it.

| i honestly don't think there has been an out and out candidate this year, even getting a shortlist together will be tricky. sign of an even competition or a real concerning lack of star names at the moment?

| Can't argue with the case for Clark but sincerely believe that Hills endeavours this year have been phenomenal. He has had the added pressure of having to carry the torch now that the Morley/Carvell power house had moved on and has surpassed expectations.

Agreed. But in answer to your question it is the latter.

| Look at the average gain. Massively in Hill's favour. Hitting that average with that high number of meters is very impressive.

| James Graham won the award in 2008, go back and check the stats for that year, sorted by metres. Graham, Peacock and Lynch were all close. You do the maths to see how you think Hilly's stats will compare by the end of the year.

| Hardly noticed Hill for the first hour today, but I don't think Peacock should've got MotM, thought it was McGuire personally.

Agree. I think the BBC had almost decided Peacock would be man of the match in the first half!
I'd have gone for either McGuire or Sinfield.

| I think we can wipe Chris Hill off the shortlist after JP was by far the dominant prop.
Toss up between JP and Clark in the final. If either player has a stormer then that will probably be remembered and win the votes.

What did Peacock do that Hill didn't?
Clarke is ahead of everyone in the race for MoS

He's very good but scooting quickly from dummy half, after his team mate's taken 2-3 steps off the mark, 300 times a season doesn't make him a MOS.

Such an utterly ridiculous statement about a player you've probably seen play a handful of times.

Seen him play many times thanks and if the refs ever decide to enforce the rules around the PTB his stats will take a massive hit.
He's still better than Aiton though ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

If scooting from dummy half gets you 12 tries, 6 assists, 590 tackles, 2,637 metres made, 92 tackle busts then I am more than happy. I guess Peacock's 1 try more than makes up for it.
