I hate to reply to trolls, and in particular, you - BUT, you have hit the nail on the head perfectly there - the fact Sinfield is the captain means Mcnamara has NO CHOICE but to pick him, and pick him in one of the pivotal positions, all of which he can cover but IMO whichever one he plays in we have better players than him for that position, so in an instance wherever Sinfield plays will weaken the side in that area -yes, Leeds fans i know he's a good leader of your team and he's won lots of medals but for me that counts for nothing in a national team against better players with different kinds of players around him. I hope i am wrong and he suddenly turns into an explosive/off-the-cuff/creative influence and helps us to win the World Cup, but i have my doubts that his 'leadership skills' will be enough for a player who is key and HAS to perform way above anything he's done before. |

England got walloped 36-0 by SA in the 2007 RU WC in the first pool game.England Soccer team walloped 4-1 by the Germans (should have been worse) in the second round of the 2010 WC.Dont reckon it made a ripple on either competition, or sport.
England do of course need to compete to some degree.A repeat of the 50 odd point drubbing in the last WC would be a disaster and unacceptable on all levels, but a performance along the lines of the two 2011 four nations games should have no short term effect on the competition.Even the majority of the soft core fans will be aware of the class of the Kangaroo team and the challenge that faces England IMO. |
