| This, at least looks like a way of The Championship securing some revenue, which, if the rumor's are correct, may not be certain when the new SL deal comes into force.
Like other posters, Monday nights seem a bit of a strange one but, I dont suppose that there are too many options.

| Quote: shinymcshine "There's an interesting article regarding RU Premiership attendances being down over their opening weekends, plus the loss of their Ch5 highlights programme.
Seems no matter how passionate a supporter base might feel, it just doesn't grasp a wider viewing audience in significant numbers, and therefore, in context with Championship RL, you can see how hard it might be to squeeze much money out of a broadcasting deal:
Interesting to see RU premiership still looking for a terrestrial broadcaster to pick up the 5 live games on offer.
Suggests that Super League will have same difficulty.

DAZN are in talks with BT sport. No deal has been agreed yet.

So, if each club had just 200 fans signed up for a streaming service at £10/mth (for a 6 mth season) they'd probably, once accounting for overheads, make more money than the TV deal.

| As a supporter of a super league club I am interested in this. The more games outside of the SL I can watch the better & the cost seems reasonable. Monday nights to me are OK as I don’t follow Wendy ball.
At least the Championship clubs are getting some money from outside their own ground takings. It would be great if we had free to air coverage but then why should people get our sport without paying when most of us pay on the gate?

Doubt it as production costs surely would be too expensive. A streaming service not only means live games but also shoulder programming and the general rule is streaming services initially lose money. Its just those services have investors who stomach the losses or a money mark who is prepared to fund the losses until growth is achieved.

Its one game per week. I’m sure most won’t go bust on that. Or even try marketing the occasion.

I figured since they streamed games via OurLeague during lockdown that the overheads can't have been too significant - esp. as the 'content' is free to the club.
