Yes. A scrum half is the reason we can't beat australia and NZ.
Be right back, 5 tries to 4 despite lack of territory (opening ceremony).
Be right back, 28-6 with sinfield and chase in the halfbacks (2011 semi).
It's pointless, people on here have been brainwashed. No matter what happens, it's the halfbacks fault.
It's become a cliche. To out and out say sinfield is the reason we will lose, when theres going to be forwards dropping off conceding territory and losing control of the ruck is frankly a disgrace.

But yet he gets in the Opta team of the week playing at scrum half. Rated 8.5 out of 10 vs Australia by NRL.com. Rated 8 out of 10 vs Fiji by NRL.com.
But like all the Sinfield haters, don't let the facts get in the way of your lack of knowledge.

I don't think that's what "the haters" have been complaining about. I think at the fact he's playing scrum half. Sinfield is a great tackler and tactical kicker, but can he create enough to warrant the 7 shirt. How many tries has he set up this tournament?
I would have had Sinfield in the team, at 13 so he can do what he does best. At 7 he should be creating, which he's not really done. He's not played bad, but not created enough.
And flex, your a bit hypocritical, your posts are always worded as fact. Remeber pre grand final your stating on here saying Wigan would Defintely not beat wire. Our forwards are fine. Wasn't like we spent the entire game in our half. It was an even contest against Australia. As a half back, you can't just rely on the forwards givin you territory all the time. Sometimes you have to take the game by the scruff of the neck and create something. What world class players do. Agree with you about stupid penalties though, we're more ill disciplined than NZ and need to tidy that up.

so, you're going in with an open mind then. if we lose you are going to blame Sinfield whatever the actual reason.

He has the same amount of try assists as Thurston and one more than Cronk.
FWIW Chase has double the amount of any Australian halfback.

| Quote: Mr Churchill "NZ will be expecting to put more of the same as what they've done to date on England. To win, England need to nullify NZ's strengths and leave them wondering how they lost. NZ strengths? Big men getting a roll on then Luke and the three quarters exploiting a back peddling defence at speed.
Johnson for NZ (and Thurston for Aus) looked shaky and lacking confidence with goal kicking in the last matches (ony 50% success rate). If Sinfield can find his 90% success rate kicking boots, this could be the key to an England win. England can aim to control a slower and structured game by taking the two points EVERY TIME there is a penalty awarded within Sinfield's range. We'd expect to get the ball back every time from the re-start.
So, if Sinfield can have say three penalty shots in each half and with England getting a good set and kick away after each one, that's a lot of game time used up. If we can get a couple of tries in each half and Sinfield convert say three, that could be say 32 or 34 points. NZ would struggle to beat that in the remaining time and if the England defence is up to stopping any prolonged roll-on developing. Not to mention frustrating them. A red card for a frustrated Luke or SBW would help if our guys can stay disciplined.'"

| I think the OP got a bit over excited but I can see his point, there is a lot of goal kicking in origin for example.
Personally I agree with Tony Smith on this one in that all it does is give the opposition chance to have a breather and a few words from the sideline. How many times do you see a team take two points only to mess up seconds later?
It was a tactic which Shaun Wane tried against Warrington last year, twice he took the two and from what I can remember, on both occasions we scored pretty much straight off the back of it.
There are times when it is the right thing to do though and in a tough, low scoring game that extra two point cushion can be great mentally if nothing else. I guess the blokes on the field know best.

Fiji took 2 v Aussie in the pool match...I suspect it was purely so as to avoid a 3rd doughnut in 4 games......they lost 2-34
The lack of "taking the 2" in RL was one of the things that got me hooked on League.

That is why England lost. Not individual errors as everyone played to their best. Some silly mistakes BUT
Englands Kicking was rubbish all game. Sinfield, Burrow, Roby and Widdop were poor kicking on the last.
