Just listened to an interview with Steve Burraston (Knights CEO) on 2GB. Surprise, turns out the deal was not all it was cracked up to be. The deal wasn't for 100 million. It's worth according to Ross Greenwood and Burraston was not even a third of that. In fact, in the deal Tinkler proposed, he would not even be handing over any money up front, not a dollar. It was more a case of Tinkler and possibly others associated with him becoming more or less benefactors.

There was no guarenteed longevity in Tinkler's proposal, and current sponsors of the club had issues with the proposal that couldn't be worked out in the time given by Tinkler (he forwarded his complete documents to the Knights last Wednesday only).

So now, where does this leave Kade Snowden?

I am glad the newcastle board had the backbone to resist tinkler on this occasion. The telegraph will rant about their stupidity but tinklers tactics of using the media to pressure the knights into a decision before they had due time to consider the deal was disgraceful. If he comes back with a proper comprehensive deal covering key areas like junior funds etc. then they should accept it, but it was the right decision to let him walk for the moment.

I expect Snowden to sign with Cronulla now. Big week for them to, the members will more than likely approve the development of some club land into residential and commercial lots to secure their long term financial future

It will end up dragging on will all this, deals on then off. Who knows what will happen.

and if his real offer isnt $100 million then he seems a little duplicitious
having said that hes rich, can afford to fund them and is a proven success at life

Tinkler's very odd. He tapped Kade Snowdon about joining the Knights. And in the end he didn't even get control of the club.

Would you trust this man though? He's tapped at least one player before he even had control of the club he wanted him to join. That is bad form IMO.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to believe a word Tinkler says. Whatever his true intentions, he is playing games to get there.
