Waits for someone to notice that Harlequins come out close to the top on the average *away* attendance (over 4000 ahead of the teams whose fans don't travel away in numbers - Crusaders, Catalans, Salford, Huddersfield.)

Teams like Wigan, Leeds and Hull disgust me. It's them who are making everyone look bad. If they posted attendances of 5,000 and 6,000 we wouldn't be having threads like this. It's a bloody disgrace.

They're not exactly harmed by the fact they've played Leeds and Wigan away, and Wigan had over 18000 on that night.

The reason Quins came out high is because teams offer ticket promotions against them, We did and so did Wigan

....exactly. Clubs know we travel up on the back of a scooter and ACT accordingly...........but you'll always get the fans of "some clubs" in East Hull going on about our lack of away fans and it being the number 1 reason we should be booted out of SL


When will people realise that attendances count for 2 licence points and quins will get a licence next time, as will Crusaders based on the expansion ticket. I would be worrying more about stadiums and finances if I were a fan of any of the other c licence winners last time.....Quins have a backer who will continue to catch the debt.....they balance their books every year.

As for Crusaders, they will build their fan base year on year and if they can put together a decent cup run or challenge for honours in the next 4 years, they will average 8 to 9K easily. 6k in their first season in a new town is pretty good...considering the sport has no history of being played there.

Nope, they're not. The attendance graphs may, at the moment, include challenge cup fixtures but the averages do not.

The question is can Crusaders keep it up next year, it'll be a big ask, and for us well I thought our average would of been even worse, think it would be stupid to get rid of us now the stadium's being built though.

I think if they make a few high profile signings and a bit more promotion, they can improve on this years attendances. I also agree that Salford should be kept in now, I think they should have gone last time, but this time they're there on merit.

If I have to eat any more humble pie, I think I'll be sick.

Dont expect a turn out from cas as they only brought 150 fans to our place last sunday

salford in their new ground can easily get 8000 if they are getting 4500 now at the willows.

...and while you all seem to be enjoying playing with numbers. On a like for like basis, comparing this years fixtures to last years, Warringtons attendance to date is up by a very impressive 21.46%.

...and the Crusaders....using Celtics figures from last year....attendances up by a massive 59.02%, they also have only played 5 home games.

I wasnt at the match so dont know how many we brought, the number does seem to get smaller everytime its mentioned though. I wonder if its a similar reason why we had a thread on our board a few years ago with wigan fans slaggin us off for bringing no more than 400, just before your own chairman revealed we had brought just short of a thousand.

I be at the celtic match though, far better day out and the welsh are always a good laugh.

Hand on heart honesty.......Cas brought around about 3-400 to wigan last week. Wheather thats good or bad i'm not really bothered but it was around that figure.

Something has to be done about away following in general for me. Somebody on our board mentioned an 'away' season ticket which would be a decent shout imo. I'd buy one if it saved me money because I go to all our away games and it may just tempt a few more out of the woodwork if the prices agreed between clubs were decent.
