| Another quick sending off was Jason Smith for Hull FC against Halifax in our first game at the KC Stadium. Smith was sent off for a high tackle (the second tackle of the game). Steve Ganson stopped the clock on 22 seconds.

Yeah the one referred to was just a booking, although the circumstances were correct.

Might be wrong but think it was Barrow, they kicked off we drove ball in, flying elbow to the head and the ref had the card out before our player had it the ground.

There is something in my memory says he never got a card while playing for Leeds.

| Think the incident we are trying to recall is from either the 91-92, or 92-93 football league season. I believe Vinny Jones was red-carded after a few seconds whilst playing for Sheffield United against Man City at Maine Road.

| I cant find anything about Vinnie Jones red card after a few seconds but I found this
"Jones was sent off a total of 12 times in his career, a record second only to Manchester United's Roy Keane with 13. He does however hold the record for the quickest-ever booking, for a foul on Dane Whitehouse after just THREE seconds of Chelsea's League game against Sheffield United in 1992. "

| of course, there is always the 'urban myth' that a footballer once got sent for after 1sec. After the ref blew the whistle to start the game, he turned round and said "f****** ell ref, that was loud" and got carded for swearing
Prob not true, but bloody funny

| Steve Hampson against the Kiwis at Elland Road springs to mind as a fairly early bath.

| Quote: Dreamer "There is no doubt that Morley caught him a beauty, but the bigger question for me is; would the english ref have sent him off if he had been Australian? Even more interesting; would and Australian ref have sent an Australian off?
I'm not fishing - its a genuine concern.'"
Its all hypothetical because unlike Adrian 'High shot' Moreley Aussie players know how to play the game and can usually keep their shots below head height.
Sadly poor old Adrian never quite grasped the concept and ultimately paid the price when the Chooks sent him back to England as he spent too much time suspended or injured because of his poor techniques

In Australia anything below the temple is not considered a high tackle

I assume that good looking lad Danny Brough played his entire career in Australia then??
His forehead resembles the front end of an Intercity 125 train

| All things aside though, it was actually a bloody good hit that Morley put in, but it cost us.
