| How is that, only 3 playoff games had McIllorum in, all the other games not involving wigan could have had a hooking masterclass? Wigan didn't win because of McIllorum.

| I never said Wigan won due to McIlorum.
Wigan won because they were the better team on the night.
McIlorum played very well and was in consideration for MOM.

If we looked back at the 1,2,3 voting we have on our board for each of the play off games I'm pretty sure he was in most peoples for each game. I know a lot of Wigan fans thought he should have been the Harry Sunderland trophy winner as well. I actually didn't but I thought he should have got it in 2010 when he was magnificent against the great Keiron Cunningham and James Roby.
It's made me smile on here over the past couple of days reading how under-rated he is by opposition fans. He is one of Wigan's best 3 players in my opinion and in a lot of other Wigan fans opinions and we watch him week in week out. We wouldn't say that if it wasn't the case because we have no reason to rate him as a more important player for us then the likes of Charnley, Green, Smith, Farrell etc which I do. Ask me now who I'd least like to lose from our squad and after Sean O'Loughlin he'd be at the top of my list.
I'm going to leave it at that anyway because there's no point keep going over it. He'll do for me and I look forward to watching him continuing to turn up in the big games for the double winning champions next year He's got a big game in Sydney to play in at the end of Feb whilst Lunt, Higham, Houghton and any other pretenders will be freezing their nuts off playing in one of superleagues 27 friendly rounds.

| Ok if he's so good, what are his great strengths? Kicking? No. Speed? No. Creativity? No. Power? No. Tackling? A bit. Distribution? A bit. What am I missing that Wigan fans only can see?

Fitness 10/10
distribution 7/10
Aggression 8/10
Mc'Illorum is a great player, Wigan would have won no trophies if you swapped him with young Logan Tomkins.
Roby to start and burrow on the bench, signed a Wigan fan.

Im sure NZ are quaking at the prospect at facing his fitness, distribution and aggression. He's average admit it! No bursts from dummy half, no kicking game, no creativity, no guile.

| Roby, McIlorum or Burrow. All three class, we're blessed with three very capable hookers. I'd have no grumbles whoever is chosen, I know all 3 will do a great job in different ways.

McIlorum's not 'class'.

| It was a decent burst from dummy half that got him the try in the GF.
BTW quick ptb were binned after the 2008 WC when Aus & NZ players could lie on for ever.
Roby's spint from dummy half was nullified and we nothing except a good thrashing most games.
Quick dh runs work against slower and lower teams in SL. Against the best two Intl teams in Aus & NZ they are dead in the water and have been for years.

Someone forgot to tell Isaac Luke that DH running was dead.

Haha. It was a 4 yard scorcher wasn't it?
Anyway, you seem to be insinuating that running from dummy half is Roby's only strength. Yes that was his major attribute when he first started playing at hooker for Saints, but he has a top class all round game. Recently voted the 3rd best hooker in the world.
McIlorum probably isn't even the best hooker in his family.
