Fair enough. Quins fans do know him pretty well after all.

A shed load of cash, and 2 free tickets to Sarries' first home game.

| Wigan by the looks of things are turning into the new Arsenal by developing young players with potential and then selling them off to the highest bidder in Union.

There has been no mention of any money exchanging hands?
All Wigan are getting out of this is a friendly that the Wigan public have to pay for?

| Wigan get a £250k fee and somewhere to play the odd game when WAFC dont want the pitch spoiled.
The satements from Joel and Ian are pathetic, why can't Joel just say its the money.

More importantly, who would actually want to pay 250k for Joel Tomkins? They'd be lucky to get 100k from another RL team for him!

| I'll tell you something for nothing. Whenever someone feels the need to use the word "synergy" in a statement; they're feeding you bull.

Synergy just means they could not stop him crossing codes or Sam would have kicked a stink up too? maybe losing both

| Quote: Saddened! "Wigan fans should be up in arms about this. The club should be bombarded with phone calls asking for a personal explanation from Leneghan. It's unquestionable that this will benefit Saracens. Better access to arguably one of the best RL production lines. They'll be able to identify the stars even earlier than they can now and have access to tapping them up through the masquerade of them 'exchanging knowledge'.
What do Wigan get out of it exactly?'"
Well said, I couldnt agree more

And do you know any player who came back from that game anything like as good as before they left ? More fool the clubs who bother.....once they leave, sod 'em.

I'm sure he'll love that crash ball centre position where he gets to use none of his skills and gets trampled on every week at the bottom of a pile of bodies.
He may get fast tracked into the England set up but there's a lot of big lump English centres playing union at the moment.
I can't help but feel he would have been better staying put. He could have improved as a player and made a decision later and got the same or possibly more money.
As it is I reckon he'll be back rather like Lee Smith or Chev Walker.
