Lastly, I guarentee he's not the only person and rugby league isn't the only sport where this is happening and that's besides cricket.

Yes, and that's fair enough - he's been caught and should been thrown out of RL for life. I don't think anyone's got an issue with that. He broke the rules and should face the consequences.

However, for the Sun to then publish his spurious and boastful claims regarding cheating during games and being able to tell opposition teams have placed wagers, and then to attach them to RL as a whole is a disgrace.

If the RFL had any balls they'd threaten the Scum with legal action.

The old betting 'scandal' resurfaces.

Although I agree no player should willingly bet against or on his own team in a fixture, betting on matches in RL is widespread in players (just in case people think I'm suddenly saying players bet on or against thier team, what I mean is players bet on/against other teams in other fixtures that thier team are not involved in).

In the CC when a professional team plays an amatuer team, amateur players often bet on thier team scoring the first point, hence why sometimes the first point in a game is a drop-goal. Can that be classified as a scandal?

Leaf to me appears either incredibly thick or incredibly cocky, reading the article it appears to me Leaf has spoken to someone he may not know, spoken to someone taking photo's of him in the bookmakers, recorded the conversation. Now he was either too thick to notice this dodgy stuff going on with a bloke he doesn't know asking him about gambling in RL or was just too cocky in thinking he wouldn't ever be caught.

Whichever it was, I don't think he'll ever play pro RL again. He'll be playing in the NCL soon enough.

After an exhaustive 20 minute enquiry the RFL have cleared their employees of any wrongdoing but, to be on the safe side, have given staff a 30% pay bump so they are not tempted to cash in on betting scams.
