I am not worried about you pal...just happy to point out the exact logistics of what some of your, sahall we say, more eager fans think will happen with the good Dr's money.
By the way, have I told you about the 10,000 break even figure and the associated revenues that will flow in once you get 130,000 people paying 15 notes on a ticket and another 15 on residuals?...... .......he won't have to spend between 3 and 5 million out of his back pocket.
To put it another way, what came first, the Chicken(silverware) or the egg(decent average support)?

| Oh the irony. This thread now has 3 times the number of viewers that actually attended the game.
Salford will always struggle for supporters. The spherical ball game is too strong in the area.
That doesn't mean they shouldn't at least try but there has to come a point when small crowds become an embarressment to the top flight of our great game. Oh hang on, London anyone?

| Three words to everyone who's posted on this thread . . . smoke some weed.
Fans of other vulnerable clubs or those miffed at their team not being in Superleague attack Salford and their attendances and Salford fans defending their club. How predictable

| Woah, where have these Hull KR fans suddenly grown a pair from? Fans of a club with an embarrassing ground, embarrassing finances and an embarrassing amount of overseas players in their squad are not ones who should be taking the mick out of another club.

I support a team with no finances, no fans, no ground and a history of employing a major number of imports.....I still say Salfords new owner will need to drop between 25 and 35 million of his own cash to even get close to the top 4or 5 teams in SL.
I notice that whilst all this love is flying around on here, most Salford fans would rather call other posters "haters" rather than accept or address the facts of the matter...which are that they got a lower crowd than London at the weekend, they have an owner who mistakenly believes signing a star player will get him 10,000 regulars and that they have 1 year (until about this time next year) to turn around their fortunes......if they wait until 2014 before addressing the decline in fans, then they may well be in for a shock when the 2015+ licences are announced.
If the RFL double the salary cap, does the good Dr believe signing Morely and billy slater will fill the stadium

You have no idea what he thinks and what he's planning to do with the club, other than some press sound bites, which is why you're sat behind the keyboard and he's running the club. We're less than six months into new ownership. Why are people going on about how it isn't working or isn't going to work already?
Also, there's a difference between posting something constructive and throwing out pathetic insults which we've seen on here. However you dress it up, some people are quite obviously hoping that Salford will fail.

If bidding for big name players like "Morely" (is that another one of your hilarious nicknames?) was all the club was doing, then you might have a point. But it isn't. They are conducting a "root and branch" reform of the club with pretty much [ieverything[/i up for review, including pricing, kick off times, marketing, the lot. There are a few details [url=http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/live-thursday-salford-reds-webchat-3000158here[/url in an on-line Q&A session with Ed Farish, the new CEO. Part of the strategy is to build a better team so they have something to market. Other parts - the parts you haven't been banging on about - include buying the stadium so the club have something that can generate income.
In the meantime, yes we got a low crowd at the weekend, and yes some of our fans are a bit over-excited at the moment and like to come on here and spatter their excitement all over the place, but it's only a handful. I tend to cringe when I see certain posters on here. Most of us are more realistic. In the short term, I - and I suspect [iall[/i Salford fans - have accepted that our crowds are low (I mean, it's not like you can miss it, is it?) so how would you like us to "address" it? Longer term, the club are in a better position to take off than they have been in decades.
Whether the club [idoes[/i take off remains to be seen, but it won't be for want of trying. And it won't just come from signing big name players, which is why the strategy is broader than that.

Can't fault his enthusiasm.
I think next season will be very interesting - MK with his inevitable season ticket promotions and a chance for BN to build a squad. They may have a chance to be competitive....
But until then, I don't want to hear another line about how 'immeasurably big' Salford could be or how they have the 'potential' to be the biggest club in the world.

Maybe, but threads about Salford's attendances go right back to the days when the club didn't have a micturition receptacle. The level of pointless vitriol may be a bit higher, but the whining has always been there.
If the over excited fans bother you, is ignoring them an option? Works for me.
